farmgurlz .. i sent this to my 'ya-ya's' .. and thought i'd share it with my farmgurl frenz too!

yesterday, gurlfren, luna and i headed a little 'south' of central kentucky where we live for some 'tiquin'!
first stop was a country breakfast for me (eggs/sausage/biscuits and gravy .. with a big cuppa' JOE!) in Mumfordville (cute little town) ..
then i met up with luna at the olde courthouse .. and we went to horse cave to get a ka-billion gourds for kathy sugarbucket (she's gonna' use them in our 'garlands' in the class that she will teach to our kentucky gurlfrenz at our october gatherin') WOWZER .. this lady had more gourds than i've ever seen in one place!
then we headed for Bowling Green (never did make it that far!) we stopped at Smith's Grove at a few shoppes .. i don't think either of us got anything at the first couple shoppes .. a few had closed down since i was last there. but we ventured further into town .. found one or two more open .. don't think we bought there either .. but we sure met some nice people along the way!
i was VERY pleased to find the little gift/flower/antique shoppe on the corner (my fav in that town) OPEN .. i got a dear little beat up .. time-weary .. dolly trunk. i just could NOT resist it .. it spoke to my heart! oh the stories this little trunk must have to tell! AND . .i found the little dolly apron later in the day too!

oh didn't my heart go pitty-pat when i spied this! ohhhh .. the history and stories!
i have absolutely the PERFECT dolly and early doll clothes for this little trunk. the dolly sits at glovers' station waiting for a momma .. i do so hope she is still there ... for i shall bring her HOME!
============= luckily i asked if the 'farm' was open for visitors today ... the sweet lady said yes .. and we ambled up and down the road she told us it was on .. passing it .. coming to a dead end road .. and tracking back until finally we saw it off the side of the road! (i had been there several years ago .. and didn't quite remember where it was).
lotsa' pumpkins .. but i'm going to get mine LOCALLY (green county!)
anyhoo ... i thought luna and i were going to lose our minds as we drove into the farmyard and saw all the wonderful olde outbuildings with the yards so Fall Festive!
THESE ARE 'PEANUT PUMPKINS' .. kinda' wish i'd a gotten these two! i've never seen one like it before.

there were so many 'vignettes' at her place that would make fabulous CARDS!

i think we were there about two or three hours! the flowers on this farm are still so COLORFUL and DEVINE! we both, of course, purchased some .. and honeys! they were only a coupla' dollars EACH!
i was ecstatic to find one of those hidden cupboard fold-down IRONING BOARDS .. ohhhhh .. it even has one of those 'small sleeve' ironing boards that flops down too! The cupboard is EXTREMELY tall .. i feared the ceilings in my laundry room might not be tall enough .. (they ARE!) .. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh KAAAAATHIEEEEEEEE SUGARBUCKET!!! i'm gonna' need you and eddie to install this sucker for me!!!! (i haven't gotten it outta' the car yet .. i might need help!)

got this one a coupla' days ago:
i buy these mostly to put pumpkins and gourds on! (a little dear trick i learned from Cathy Cobblestone!)
these are the plants i got for a coupla dollars each .. ohhh .. and a wonderful ALOE plant too!
my plants above look great near this hanging one we got awhile back.
a few days ago .. i sewed these chair cushions from olde curtains i had hanging in the cabins!
luna got a wonderful chippy mailbox .. and chippy bowls (i laughed so hard cuz' i think she coined a new word .. she told me she collects: CHIPWARE! sooooooo appropriate for our pottery with little dings in it!) when i saw two wonderful robin-egg blue OLDE saw-horses .. i ran to tell her .. jus' knowing she would love them! she had already seen them and had decided to buy them! she has a BEAUTIFUL tabletop she got from friend Darlene in Illinois on one of our previous trips .. it will be PERFECT on top of these sawhorses. (i'll take a pic of it when we get together for our Gurlfren Gathering in October. Luna got a lot of 'fleurs' too ... and goodness .. i forget what all!
AND .. i loved this place so much .. that i asked if i could feature them in my Kentucky Ramblings column in our winter issue of Mercantile Gatherings Magazine! She was thrilled .. she gets the magazine and loves it!
We coulda' just stayed there for several more hours jus' lookin' around and chitty-chatting .. but there were a few more hours of daylight and mayhaps a shoppe or two on our way back home!
HEY! i jus' got an idea ... let's have a 'gurlfren roadtrip' to visit this wonderful place sometime soon! i'll make some arrangements and let ya'll know the date. she does have an autumn open house soon .. don't know if i can do the dates though .. will check my calendar and see .. and besides .. it might be fun if we jus' had our own private little party there. i'll see what she does late autumn/early winter! back at ya' soon on this 'grande adventure'! do let me know if you'd like to join me!
Well .... you'd think that would have been enough roaming for me .. but NOOOOOOOO .. after dropping miz luna and her treasures back off at her car in Mumfordville .. i headed for ELIZABETHTOWN .. to do some more 'fancy nancy' shoppin' ... will show ya'll some pictures of the cuties i got in another 'love letter' to you!
