Hello everyone! I have been enjoying MaryJanes books for a couple of years now and finally am learning to use a computer.I am dyslexic so my spelling is often horrendous ,sorry. We live on just under an acre. My sweetheart and I have just celebrated our 30th anniversary in june.We have 3 boys, 1 girl who is married with a 3 year old son.We are fortunate to enjoy the company of our children because one or more are often staying with us in our cozy home.We have 20 odd chickens R.I.reds, arracaunnas, brammas ect...and a rescued bernease mountain dog by the name of Cally.I love gardening, painting ,crafting, sewing, walking, kyaking, beaching, hamocking and enjoying our yard with our friends.I love to read and there is not a room in the house without books in it.We have never had a microwave and have one TV.I taught childrens games when we lived in Quebec.Bye for now. Richere

Thankyou for the wellcome friends! My brother started this thing of calling me mothergoose.I married a Quebecer with the last name of a baby goose so...Canadian goose..aka ...goose ,which makes me mothergoose .Allso I love and collect childrens books- the artwork is phenominal and the stories uplifting. For anyone in my area my mailbox is a canadiangoose of course.Bye for now richere God bless ER...Iam babysitting my grandson everyday untill the harvest is done and he does not like grandma on the computer, besides time with him is presious so it limits my time here.

A big Southern welcome! I SO agree with Debbie -- Mother Goose was always one of my favorites! We have chickens, too. Polish, Black Austrolorps, Brown Leghorns, Silver-laced Wyandottes, Dominiques and an odd Red Sex Link or Americauna every now and then. I'll look forward to hearing more from you Richere!

Oh, my goodness. Hi Richere!! I have been dying to meet a local farmgirl from my neck of the woods (or oceans, however you want to look at it, lol as we certainly have plenty of those) I am also from Tiverton. Your small farm sounds lovely. You are going to love it here. Everyone is so wonderful and there is always something fun happening, from great crafting projects to wonderful conversations.
Anyways, I just had to say hi!!
Take care,
Marcy

I am slowly figuring out this computer stuff.I am trying to find the time to read here .I translate french to english and that eats up time.I also read allot to study all the things I'm interested in.Along with the chickens, dog ,family ,house ,organics in cooking and living and managing my fibromialgia and life in general, the computer is a luxury. However it is so much fun and interesting to read this site.Thankyou MaryJane !

Hey, I must have missed you somehow. Welcome from down in N. Ga. I have also been married 30 years! 1 son and 2 daughters, 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. Hubby drives a truck so I'm here with all our critters by myself most of the time.

I am learning all this computer stuff, too. Never have had one and when I discovered MJF had a forum with other women like me, I decided to get one. I had saved up some money and Tn. had a tax free weekend before school started this past Aug. So I took my cash and went shopping. Of course I hate shopping so got the first one I saw. I had enuf money to get this one and even got back .36! I still need to learn how to type.

I also talk alot. Nice to meet you and just jump right on in.

Kris

Hello Mothergoose, your post struck me for many reasons. First, I have a son who is dyslexic, so you spelling will not bother me at all. Second, I am new too, Hello fellow farmgirls ! Third, I have 4 boys and one precious little girl . I so long to have a farm. My husband and I have our home up for sale so we can be one step closer to owning a small farm. Right now I have a small flock of hens. I too love to garden, sew, and be outdoors.I love to read about truly being a farmgirl. Have a great day !

Hello Nicki !It is so great to have people to chat to about the animals, outdoors, crafts and things. We actually live on less then an acre of well used land.If you are looking for a well manicured lawn you have come to the wrong place HaHa!But we do have the chickens ,Callie our bernease mountain dog, a few gardens,a hammock and hanging swings,a big patio area and small house. My extended family all come down in august and we have the yard full of tents and joy.We beach, kyack, swim ,explore the 6 wildlife/landtrusts in the area,All within 10 miles from us.It would be great to meet some of the people I chat with, actually all of them but travel wise we are very limited.Well gotto go I'm late late late.Have a wonderful day everone

Hi Ruth,

I would love to have a get together. I have been dying to meet some local farmgirls. I haven't seen many from around here.
Get back to me and we will figure out when and where.
Take care,
Marcy

Marcelina~That's great. It will have to wait until after the holidays but we can set something up. It is a bit busy right now but once January comes and it's quiet we can set a date. I have looked for other RI farmgirls but haven't found any.
Blessings,
Ruth

Can I come too, Marcy and Ruth? I'm a SAHM, so I don't know what your free time looks like, but I'm home during the day.
