we had a really fun day yesterday .. honey hunk, kathy sugarbucket and her man, eddie .. luna and her man, alan and i all headed out for a fun day of 'antiquin' and eatin' to celebrate kathy's birthday. got a little late start and we roamed delightful kentucky backroads .. DANG! every antiques shoppe we got to was CLOSED on suNday! as was the wonderful restaurant we were headed for!!! sooo .. we roamed a little more .. and came to a yummy italian restaurant on the outskirts of louisville .. THEN .. we headed back up to the Peddlar's Mall .. which had juSt closed! double-DANG!
but .. we sure did have lots of laughs and giggles runnin' those roads together!

monday morning .. and i've already been outside and cut off all my sunflower 'heads' .. will dry them a little more before 'de-seeding' them! remember .. jus' send me a little self-addressed, STAMPED envelope if you'd like some! (make it one of those padded ones though so the seeds don't get STAMPED by the postie and bust wide open!) jus' guess at the postage .. and hopefully, it will get to you!
ironin' up some 'curtains' to put back on the "winders" here today .. then .. i think i'll head for town to do some fun Birthdy Party shoppin' for little SOFIA .. who will be turning two september 15!
Well your weekend spent with friends sounds like it was great fun. I always love those little adventures.
So far I have managed to get all my quilt fabric ready for class tonight. Although I discovered I am missing a couple of things and will need to run to the store to grab them. I am learning to how to paper piece an adorable little witch quilt. So I am very excited!
The roofers arrived again this morning and started making a ruckus. I didn't mind because I had been up since 6 a.m. but the puppy was not pleased. I can't wait until they finish this week and I am sure they will be glad to be done today with all the shingle removal because I went out and had to ask them ever so nicely not to damage the plants in the front of the house like they did on the side. Which may pose a difficult task. I figured it didn't hurt to ask! I will be scattering sone pumpkins in there soon enough if not.
Last but not least I need to finish some laundry; all though it may wait another day. I still have some on the line from yesterday.
I'm still feeling it from taking the kids roller skatin the other night. Hallie and Cat are too. I've been cleaning house and doing laundry. Going to go get the kids from school here in a couple of hours. I don't really have much planned for today.
christina .. be sure to post a pic of your quilt when you are finished. halloween is my second mos' fav holiday of the year (daughter wednesday was born on that day) .. MOTHER'S DAY being the mos' sacred of all sacred holidays for me!
All of you farmgirls sure do know how to have fun. I love reading your postings. Frannie: I have to tell you, I woke up in the middle of the night (3PM) laughing my head off. My husband woke -up asking me why I was laughing. I was dreaming about putting on a leotard. I am howling right now. LOL Marly
marly .. i hear ya' honey!!! lordy! i climbed up on top of a chair .. and then on the washing machine to try and hang a little curtain .. was on my 'knees' for about five minutes .. and thought honey hunk wuz gonna' haf'ta come home and find me still 'kneelin' up there! SEIZED UP!
lordy! i remember when i could hop, skip and jump from washer to dryer and back to washer! xo
Oh Frannie that gosh darn little quilt broke all my rules of quilting. It made me very uneasy to say the least but the instructor assured all of us that was part of the process. Thank goodness it is in a very primitive style. Everyone thought that we would be finishing at least one of the squares, including the instructor. Of course no one did. I am going to fore go a few household things this week for quick 10 minute tidy time instead. That way I can keep at this thing. As soon as I am done I will post a picture for ya to see!
christina .. in our 'primitive doll club' in maryland .. we had a great motto: "IT'S PRIMITIVE! GET OVER IT!" ha! primitive can be soooooooo forgiving!
