I bought a set of 100% cotton, 250 thread count sheets this weekend and I love them but they feel al ittle scratchy. I know they'll soften with use but does anyone have any suggestions for making them softer alot quicker?

Thanks!

Kim

I would soak the sheets in Downey. That's what I do. Then I wash them again, and soak them again, then put them in the dryer or air dry them.

Vinegar in the rinse water should help a lot as well.

Thanks so much...I've never used fabric softener...or vinegar. I don't have either so I'll give this try later in the week!

powdered milk softens sheets while it removes chemicals in the cotton!

Powdered milk? I've never heard of that. Do you put it in with the detergent or in the rinse cycle?

Use it just like Tide.
Then rewash in your normal detergent, with a little white vinegar added to the rinse cycle.
I said this before...but isn't vinegar a stinky little miracle?

I just put the powdered milk in like you would Tide, then after the first wash cycle ends, rewash them in hot water and if you put white vinegar in the rinse cycle...you don't need a fabric softener. It will soften your clothes and remove static! Vinegar...what a stinky little miracle it is!

livin' the sweet life!

That's amazing...thanks!

This is the method I ended up using and it worked out great. Thanks Marly!
