some personl matters at home have limited my time and my will, frankly, to do anything at the moment but try to function at work. I am dealing with some illness in my immediate family that is all consuming. I will still honor my requests and provide photos, but I have to dedicate myself to this right now, unfortunately. Please be patient with me and give a little prayer.

When I worked at the animal shelter, someone donated a bag of "rags" and in the bottom were about 10 sets of barkcloth curtains. They have been professionally made, and the fabric is still in good shape--still strong. The colors are typical (blue greens, greens, roses) and it's a floral pattern. I will launder it, and take a photo to post if anyone is interested. Would make some great totes or something like that.

The fabric is at my mom's, so I will post a photo later this week, maybe on Saturday.

I'd love to see them! I think I know what you're describing, Jonni, but a picture would really help. Always lookin' for good cloth!

I'd be interested, Jonni! Are you looking to trade or to sell? If there are 10 sets of curtains, that's a lot of barkcloth. Would love some for totes and pillows.

i would be interested too, if any of the gals ahead of me change their minds. but if katie-ell gets it trust me, she will turn it into some kind of wonderful pincushion or tote or pillow. she sent me a little pincushion in my surprise package from her and frannie, in kentucky and it is very charming, the bunnies and olivia have been fighting over whose pincushion it is.
how are things going for you and the little one, jonni?

Once I found some meow cloth........ it was scratchier than bark cloth. :)

Seriously, barkcloth is very collectible, and has some value! It is "in" right now. Whoever gets it will be lucky!

Holy cow! That's what I get for posting this and going off to the office meeting!!

Diana--that's a hoot! I hadn't even thought of that--that's a funny!!!!

Alrightee then...I have several requests, and I have several pieces of fabric. I have had two private emails, one almost immediately after I posted this. She will get first dibs.

I will post a photo, as mentioned and you can decide from there. There are some smaller pieces, that would be great for what Katie Elle does (valances, I guess), and I will post those, too.

Jonnie,

I just caught this post and I would be very interested in any of the barkcloth you're willing to share. I purchased a wooden rocker several years ago from the Salvation Army and I made a new seat for it using 6-inch foam, covering it with barkcloth that I pieced together-sort of like a quilt cushion. I've been looking for more but it's not something you see everyday! Thanks for your generous offer.

Please add me to the list if there's anything left. I've been in the hospital for almost a week, so I'm sure i'm too late to join in on the thrills, but , just in case...Thanks.

Jonni, praying for your family and for strength for you. As much as possible, eat well, drink plenty of water and get good sleep. Take care of yourself so you can be there for your loved ones. That's a much, much, much higher priority than the barkcloth.

God bless -

Jonni,
You take all the time you need and know that you're in my prayers. Family is far more important than material things.

Blessings on you and your situation,
