Dear farmgirls, Please let me apologize. I really didn't mean to be so rude and not introduce myself! I got so caught up in the Farmgirl forum and was so excited to find so many women that had many of my same interests that I completley forgot to intoduce myself. Please forgive me.
My name is Teresa Sue, I live in a rural farming community of about 700 people, about an hours drive, south of Spokane and about an hours drive south will take us to the Moscow, ID/Pullman, WA area. Well, I actually live two miles out of town in an old farmhouse on a couple of acres.
We own 20 acres 18miles sw of St. Maries Idaho. Our goal is to move to our property and live a simple life. In the past I have had a milk cow, a goat, sheep, and we have hogs every year for the freezer. Eventually, I want another milk cow, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, hogs, and a spinning flock. I want an heirloom fruit orchard, herb, vegetable, & flower gardens. I am interested in heirloom plants and seedsaving. I was a 4-H leader for several years, general leader and the sheep project leader. I have three daughters, 4 grandchildren and have been married for 32 years, even to the same man, lol. I love to read(love history and geneology), quilt, spin, would like to learn how to weave after I'm a better spinner, am trying to learn how to knit-if I can just make socks, simple sweaters, mittens,& hats I would be happy. I also love cook, bake, garden, can,& put up food in different ways. I also would love to learn to whitewater raft, archery, and play the fiddle. So many projects, so little time.sigh. Organic and sustainable agriculture are very dear to my heart. So is being very self reliant. I also like to do woodworking projects and I love being outdoors. While I'm not really a fou-fou girl(always a tom-boy), I have discovered as I've gotten older that I enjoy many really feminine things. We have the power, girls, lol. I love this forum and you all seem to be such a nice bunch, you inspire me, make me laugh, and make me think. I love it. Here's to friends, you can never have too many. Teresa Sue

Welcome Teresa Sue, Would you believe That I know where Tekoa is. It is the end of the John Wayne trail and I worked at Emerey's Garden here with a gal also named Maribeth that was from Tekoa--Small world, huh. I just thought it was funny that I worked with a lady with the same name as mine which used to be an unusual name. I don't know her maiden or married name but you may know her. She is a real sweet lady. Anyway WELCOME!! MB

Teresa Sue, I was just in Tekoa~ I am thrilled you introduced yourself. I spent 10 years in Colfax and now we are in Prosser (9 years here). But I grew up in Coulee City, WA and my hubby in Dayton~ So Small town WA is something we know a little about :) glad to have you~

Hi Teresa Sue: Welcome to the site. You sound like a true farmgirl. I was a tomboy growing up, too. I look forward to reading your postings. Marly |

Hello Teresa Sue, I have been noticing the name "contrary wife" popping up recently... and getting a chuckle out of it...now to get to meet you is quite a treat. Welcome! Looking forward to hearing more from you soon. We seem to have much in common, although so far apart geographically. Linda |

A warm Southern welcome, Teresa Sue! You'll fit in perfectly! I'm just the opposite. I'm learning to weave on a four-shaft floor loom, and would LOVE to learn to spin! I'm also considering learning how to knit, but I'm afraid that, if it turns out anything like my crochet attempt, it'll be a disaster! Oh well, everyone has their talents!

You all are great, no wonder I get such a kick out of this site. My oldest daughter is married to a career marine and in two or three years they're going to be stationed in NC or in VA. Then I'm going to go visit and explore that part of the country, maybe I'll get to meet some of you then. Or if you're coming to next years farm fair? Looking forward to getting to know more of you. Well, I know LA isn't close to there, but all my family on both sides are from the south, so I'm planning on haunting some cemeteries and battle sites, revolution and civil. Warmly, Teresa Sue

Annika there is a wonderful guild that is in the Moscow area. I belong but I don't get there very often because of other commitments. It is a truly eclectic group of women and you can learn anything from them concerning fiber arts. I am excited to be part of your Inner Mountain Mud Hen chapter. Teresa Sue
