i visted a women's civil war museum yesterday and was surprized to learn that Wilder became a NURSE during the Civil War.

Laura Ingalls Wilder first and foremost. Then Mary Clearman Blue. She is a professor at the University of Idaho, and was raised in Montana. No one has ever written about small ranches in the sagebrush any better. Laura is ever optimistic, inspiring, and encouraging. Mary's work is darker and haunted with tragedy, but oh so good.
