My friend, Kathy is looking for a good biscuit recipe. I used to have one that used cake flour and really raised up nicely. Does any one have a similar recipe?

Thanks!

This is my all-time favorite. I always double and make monster biscuits.

Best Biscuits from sleeplessreader
2 cups flour
1 Tbl baking powder
1t salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk or buttermilk (I use buttermilk powder + water)

Mix all ingredients. Pat flat on a floured surface and cut into rounds
Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes

enjoy,
Sharon

There are two that I use. My normal one is in the red/white plaid Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. It has a touch of cream of tartar in it and is great. I always get compliments. The other uses (I think) self-rising flour and cream and that's it. A friend gave it to me...I don't make it often as I don't always have that kind of flour to hand, but it is good, and so easy. I don't remember the quantities, but can look it up for you if you like. The BHG one is my fave!

Judith, I'd love the one with cream of tartar! That one sounds like the recipe Grandma had.
