Quick to crochet! They actually work a bit better than the commercial Swiffer pads. They have ridges in them to pick up dust, pet hair, random Lego guy heads or squashed Nutrigrain bar crumbs (not that I personally know anything about those things). They can be washed and reused over and over again!

I would love the pattern or to even see a picture of it.Is it on your etsy, maybe?? It sounds just wonderful! Especially around here...not that any of those things you mention EVER happen here..yeah right!! We don't so much have nurtigrain bars, but if it would sweep up crushed goldfish crackers or mowed grass..I'd be set for life!

What a clever idea! And your post made me laugh out loud! I would buy one if I had a swiffer!

I'll be selling them on my etsy site as soon as I get a bunch made up. If anyone wants one now, just email me. I can whip 'em out pretty quick.

AngiKay,

Can you tell me more about what kind of steam mop you have? A family member just asked the same question.

These sound great! I don't have a swiffer though. I always worried about the waste produced by throwing away those paper thingies...this solves that problem!

I was learning to knit this week, which has been quite fun! A friend's mother was showing me some really easy-to-make ideas, one of which was dish scrubbies. These work wonderfully for all the same reasons your great swiffer idea does! and they are so easy - just cast on 18, do basic knitting for as long as you want the scrubbie to be big, then stitch up the sides and gather the ends!

AngiKay,

The steam mop you have is a bit different. I'm having trouble finding the measurements of the bottom of it. The measurement of the standard Swiffer Sweeper is approx. 4.5 inches by 10 inches. Can you give me the measurements of your Shark? If the Sweeper Sweaters won't fit, I'd be happy to make the right size for you (poor Sharks, they need sweaters, too).

Thank you to Marsha and Aunt Jenny for your orders! I do hope they work well for you.

Just wanted to add that most items in my shop now come wrapped in a bit of novelty fabric and a bow. Perfect for gifting!

Theresa,
Just wanted to let everyone know that these work great and actually do a much better job than the store bought ones. Doing up against the baseboards WOW! my husband was very impressed. We vacuum and swiffer daily due to my allergies. So we give this a big thumbs up!

Theresa's swiffer sweaters are great!! I love the one I got from her...just a perfect "green" thing to have. I always hated throwing the disposable swiffer things away..and it didnt' hold onto the cloths I was using well at all....these are awesome!!! You gals will love them!!!

A HUGE Farmgirl thanks to those of you who have purchased one (or several, you know who you are!) of my Sweeper Sweaters! I just wanted to say that I have a great big batch of them heading to a Craft Sale in Texas the first weekend in December. If anyone lives in Texas and might be interested I can give more details. I've got some Sweeper Sweaters available in my etsy shop and also some new patterns of Green Sleeves from The Gypsy's Daughter!

Sorry i didn't mean to imply it was that one you had used. I think you making them and selling them is great as not everyone can crochet but most people ( I hope all ) clean their homes and what you make is useful and practical.
