I participate monthly in an online art contest..where we are given an image to create whatever our heart's desire from this image. Anyhow.. If you'd like to see my work..and cast a vote for me..that would be great! I do the art challenge not really to win..although a win would be cool(smiles)..but mostly to keep myself creating and learning new techniques...and to just plain have fun. Check it out here: http://www.mind-wideopen.blogspot.com/
the theme for this month was titled "Secret" so..I chose a "secret garden" theme for mine..and used a copy of a photo of some chrysanthemums I had taken a while back..then built around it from there..found some actual flower stickers and a card made from real flowers..and pulled all those elements together. Oh..and I must say..the hanger..was made from a necklace that farm girl Karin sent to me..with the addition of the necklace..it gave the piece that special touch I was looking for. Anyhow...thanks for the vote..really appreciate it. I think all of the images turned out really pretty though. Anyone is welcomed to join the fun at that blog. I really have found it quite enjoyable. So..if you like to create and come up with new ideas..you just might enjoy it. ~Tina
aww..you gals could create something like that too..I know you could..just a little lace, glue and paper..and "playing" and you too could create something like it..try it sometime..you just might be surprised at what you can do. I whole heartedly encourage you to try things like this..you just never know. and thanks for the compliments..I have always enjoyed art and creating..just haven't done much of it in the last 7 yrs after my 2nd child was born..now that my 3rd child is 4..and things are settling down a little...and absolutely no plans for any more children..and my home life seems to have struck a little bit of a balance...ha. I find that I am wanting to start being artsy/creative again. Now..I just need a little "studio"...hee hee.
aww thanks Mary Beth. I feel like I'll keep getting better and better at the collage making..the contest gives me the incentive to keep trying to get better at it. Plus I just enjoy it too.
Tina, I just voted for you! Your piece looks just like the theme. The flowers look like a cottage garden and the white lace looks like a picket fence. And then you see the girls face hidden in the middle of it. You did a wonderful job. Congratulations - you're a winner no matter how the voting turns out!
God bless - Karen
