Tonight I am making oven broiled chicken drumsticks cooked in a packet with Basmati Rice and organic long green beans. I will cook the rice first, then layer in the green beans and the raw chicken. Then the Packets will be sealed up and put into the oven. Wish me luck! I haven't ever tried this before so I hope they come out good!

Good Luck Alee! I made grilled chicken, steamed broccoli, and rice......Zach only ate the broccoli (a.k.a. TREES). But it was all good........

I made homemade basil noodle and sweet and spicy sausage sauce. I served it with roasted garlic pesto bread. I just blogged my recipes. You can click the link below to see them. I also remembered to take pictures this time!

I had lunch at Olive Garden with my DS and soon to be DIL. Salad and minestrone soup and cheesecake for dessert. I'm so full now I couldn't eat a bit, much less a meal.

All of this sounds wonderful. However.....What do you fix if you have worked in the yard and garden all morning and canned beets all afternoon and have a meeting to go to right after supper? That is what I did yesterday. I fixed sirloin on the grill, riced red potatoes and fried okra with onion and bell pepper. Problem was, I went overboard on supper was so tired that I didn't get the dishes done till some time this afternoon. Don't have any plans for supper tonight. Thought I'd open the fridge and see what falls out. Seems like I don't have many menues for quick and no cleanup.

Last night I made Rachael Ray's jumbalaya...super easy and we love it. With a green salad. Tonight, I'm not sure...maybe something on the grill.

Tonight's Friday Pizza night. The wholewheat dough's defrosting on the counter right now. I think toppings will be pepperoni, ham, cheddar cheese, and maybe chopped swiss chard?

Wish those tomatoes in the garden would redden up so I could throw them on!

Tonight will be salad.. yummy delish salad that I also had for lunch but it was so good that I can't wait to have it again for dinner.. romaine lettuce, cucumbers and red onion.. dressing is chopped garlic, a bit of dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar and cold pressed olive oil.. then on the side of the plate a scoop of homemade guacamole. it was so good!!! I would dip my bites into the guac.. yum! I made the same thing for hubby but I also added a scoop of hummus to the side and smashed up some wasa crisp bread crackers and put that over the top of the salad. He loved it! I have some lentils sprouting so I can add those to the salad..

Blessings, Debra

A lot of our garden stuff is FINALLY coming in, so most evenings these days its okra sauteed in cornmeal, zucchini and corn on the grill, and tomato sandwiches.
