My chickens keep flying over our fence. How do you keep your chickens in? I have four americanas, four bantams, and one plain old white rooster that was given to me. I live in town,but the chickens have free range of our fenced in backyard. The fence is a seven/eight foot high privcy fence and the girls love to roost on top of the fence. I hate to put them in a smaller cage. Its so much fun watching them run around the yard. But I'm getting tired of chasing them around the neighborhood and I'm afraid a dog or cat will get them. Any suggestions this is my first flock.
YOu can trim down their wing feathers,with a pair of sissors. HOld the wing out, and cut maybe half or so off of the length of the feathers. You may even have to go shorter, but that should slow them down a bit.
