I am working on my second mini quilt- almost done both are done by hand. I love doing mini quilts because they are instant gratification and because they are easy to sew and quilt by hand. I plop in a movie and stitch away..
Though I am on the hunt for a better machine for bigger quilts and clothing.. everyone say your prayers that debra finds a great machine and a great price!!
Thanks gals!

Blessings, Debra

I hope and pray you will get a good machine !!
If you can afford one get Janome or an Elna.
maybe look into those machines which works for quilting too
You will need a quilting foot
I haven't yet quilted one on the machine
Another friend on the internet did
She got a Janome compute machine that is for sewing quilts
She loves hers
I love to do full size quilts
and like to had quilt them too.
I like small ones but not the really small
Can't see to stitch them that small
I do love them though
they are so cute hanging on the wall
Good luck pinkroses

I am praying too.. I have squares to assemble several larger quilts and I have lots of ideas for items I would love to make for resale.. Just need to get a better machine..
I do love hand sewing my mini's though and I can't wait to fill up my wall with them..

I love to sew by hand too. For me, it's very soothing. Like a stress reliever. Kind of strange I know. It takes a lot of patience, and I'm really NOT one of those who need "Instant Gratification," so it works well for me. I only use my sewing machine to sew BIG things, like curtains. I tried making them by hand once, and even though they are pretty much just a straight seem, it took FOREVER!!

Don't worry Debra, with all the Farmgirl Prayers winging their way to Heaven, you're SURE to get that wonderful machine! Hugs~~ Tracy

Debra, I love handsewing so much....weather it be embroidery, pinkeeps, crochet or just cutting odd strips of fabric and start sewing them together..probably isn't in the traditional crazy quilt "rules" but it speaks to me as I do it.

Hope you are doing well...haven't talked to you in a long while..I too, hope for your sewing machine to show up soon!

Hugs…

I am just getting ready to learn how to sew. I went to my local craft store and purchased sewing supplies today actually. I really want to learn to sew because it is very useful and important and it also seems really fun! My grandma is going to teach me and I just love spending ime with her!

Chelsey, that's really cool that your grandmother is teaching you to sew.
