Ok, so one minute we are told to apply sunscreens like crazy to avoid skin cancer, and the next thing I hear is that sunscreens are being found in the coral reefs and are bleaching out the coral and killing other critters in the oceans (you know, application at the beach)! They say that even a small amount of sunscreen in the water can cause a lot of damage (this info came from NPR), and of course there is more then a little bit ending up in the water. Also, I'm reading now that the chemicals in suncreens can cause cancer (duh). Does anyone know of a safe sunscreen???

Earth Baby and Dr. Hauska's are good. That's all we use. I do think that for adults and older children an hour or two of sun aren't bad because you're getting vitamin D. After that and for children under 7 I would put it on immediately.
