nancy .. you are a bit further .. but we promise you grande fun and 'true true friends' if you can come too! it is so wonderful to have kindred sisters who live near you .. glad you had such a great time with your fam .. t'would be swell if they could move closer to you! remember the olde saying: BUILD IT .. AND THEY WILL COME!
i jus' know there has to be some fun friends who love what you love not far from you!
i remember when we moved to our big 'ole house in tucked back in the woods along the river in maryland .. it was totally private .. and i had just retired and wanted some local friends.
i decided i had a coupla' choices .. either stand at the end of our VERY long drive-way with a sign saying: "I'M LONELY .. PLEASE COME PLAY IN MY YARD" .. (but decided since truckers drove up and down that road .. i might not get the kind of friends i wanted) .. THEREFORE .. i chose my other method . and it worked splendidly! i started both the doll club and having 'women's tea parties' .. finding something that i thought other women would enjoy! AND i had 20 people at my FIRST tea party .. and could have had 40 at the second and 80 at the third .. (so i did lots of tea parties) .. and our dolly club had between 25 and a hundred members .. with about 30 and more of them showing up at each gathering! WOWZER! talk about your 'true friends' .. i will have loving memories of our times together forever.
sooooooo .. mayhaps you could start a 'farmgirl chapter' .. or do fun 'shabby shopping' trips for women (we used to do these all the time!)
well, kiddos .. if any of ya'll can join us .. we'd love it. we'll have a buncha' local friends ... well .. i'll write more about our gathering in my Kentucky Gurlfrenz Gathering thread! xo
