I know you gals are always a wealth of information for so many different things. So I thought I would ask if any of you have either grown or heard of any vegetables or herbs that can be grown in a shaded area of the yard. I am starting to plan some more garden areas of the yard and I can't decide if my area of shade in the backyard is going to have to be repurposed for only hostas and ferns or if it will be possible for me to grow some veggies there. Any suggestions or ideas??

Well, it does depend on how much shade... I recently read that some potatoes, and peas will grow in shade, and lettuces as well. You do need some warmth for seed germination, though.
How did I find that? Oh, yes, I did a search for will potatoes grow in shade, and came up with all sorts of interesting things :)
Good luck!
