Julie, what a beautiful doily, I want to make one, but I seem to be paralyzed by the tiny hook and the gossamer thread. I may have to try this out,,,

Karin, I use what is comfortable for me. I normally use a size 7 steel needle and number 10 thread. You should be comfortable, but unfortunately yarn does not work. The rest is just counting! Believe you can do this.

Stephanie, I know you will be glad when the moving is done and over. I hate moving. Our next step is having a yard sale. In mid august, hopefully. Best of Luck.

Julie,
So pretty! I was in this one but life has been.......... can't think of a word to describe it and I haven't even started mine yet. So sorry I did not get to pull through on this one Debi. But I am hoping to do it as soon as life gets normal again. Normal, what is that?

Its cool! You need to do your second one sent, so you can be able to do the christmas one. You will be shocked just how pretty it is. The stitches for the Christmas one is: chain, sc, slip st, dc, trc. And colors are the traditional colors; red, white and green; separate skeins, not all 3 on one. So its just knowing the basics stitches. I will be doing it as well along with you so I know basically where you are. There is one other requirement Ladies, you have to know how to count. So see if you crochet and know your basic stitches. You can do it. I have posted the new class on A Bunch of Country Swappin' Gals. I am only doing 5 gals at a time. The first five to sign up (I will start a second group if necessary.) After the first is filled we can start early if everyone agrees. That simple that easy. Come on board and start making your doilies, gifts.
Its very much enjoyable, self assuring and confidence building.

Hey Debi, if the weather will cooperate we'll leave on August 8th to clean out the house and bring everything back with us to a storage room. I will definitely be glad for this chapter to close.

Have fun with the yard sale!! Y'all must have milder temps there in August then right here..dog days of summer around here..we are going into triple digits before heat index factors in...and the humidity is aweful to boot!

Your doily is beautiful! I have never worked charted crochet. It always looked scary to me. And size 10 thread is as lightweight as I have worked with so far.

I have a class posted in the henhouse site if anyone interested. It only take 5 at a time. (First come first serve.) You will be delighted just how easy it is. Don't miss out. You need two classes to do the christmas doily. Really all you need to know is your basic stitches and how to count. You work with what size needle you are comfort with, I use a steel number 7. If you are worried about the size thread. Just take a couple of days and practice. It is truly very easy.

Okay I found the post but it will not let me reply to that topic to sign up? Who do I contact to let me in the henhouse? I am a "sister" but I don't have a chapter that I belong to...(boo! hoo!) Debi could I also get the instructions from you on the first project although I missed it. It's a dogwood! Very important here in Arkansas....we have Dogwood Days and festivals. I'm SO excited about this....I can't wait to get started! I don't have the thread or crochet hook but will go buy them as soon as I know what supplies are needed for the first and second project so I can "catch up"....thanks SO MUCH..this is so much fun! Thanks Julie for posting this on the regular forum too!

Sandra is a sisterhood member. Also please note that Jen Bove is no longer in charge of the Henhouses. You will need to contact Sunny to get set up for specific chapters or email the chapter leader because I believe she has to approve you and let the farm know you are in the group. Sorry Debi i thought you were the Swappin Girls leader.
