Donna there is a place not to far from us at the river that is called the cut, it is like a huge slice has been cut out of the rock leading down to the river, my girls love to go there, Old tales are that the Indians cut it.So perhaps the kids would love to see itWhen my kids were little we used to take them there swimming

Yay!!! I was looking for things at the thrift yesterday for our scarecrow!

Donna, Kelly and I will get along like wildfire--I was born in October, and all my life, my birthday's have been centered around autumn and all its wonderful trappings! I, too, love the magic the season brings!!!

We are just going to have a blast, and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

All your plans and excitement are so much fun to read about. How many gals are coming so far? Sounds like you will have a passel of folks. I saw it advertised in the last two farmgirl newsletters, and it just sounds great. Going to read back through this thread, and see what all you have been planning lately. Wish I could make firm plans to come, but so far, it is not working out......and I am not sure if I could keep up with all you are planning! Wow! :)

It is hard to think of missing out on the bluegrass and all.....

Great Donna, My little farmette will love your 10 yr. old, she acts older than her years! I need to clear 1 thing up, do we bring our own goodies for the scarecrow or is Miss Wilma suppling stuff? I have been on the lookout for clothing, just want to make sure so I know what all to gather up to bring. I am sure all the major detail will be in print soon. Just want to start now! Can't wait!

Miss Wilma I think they are going to give me that weekend off. I have had to fight hard for it but looks like I will be able to make my way down there. I am soooo excited.

what do you need me to bring for my scarecrow?? (or anything else) I am still trying to get my sister Pam to come; she is probably about 75% at this point..it is tough for her to get away with her 10 yr old son's schedule. I am still working on Linda too(wooliespinner here) but she has to have some surgery the last week of Oct & is not sure if she will be up to a 4 hr trip. But one thing is for sure...I will definitely be there!!! I have already quizzed hubby REPEATEDLY "What weekend are you on critter duty" & he answers "Oct 4 & 5" Got my pup trained..(he would kill me if he knew I said that, male ego y'know!!)
Anyway, let me know what you need me to bring...
THis sounds like it will be one great gathering!

Lisa I dont mind her little boy coming at all, I found a big old iorn kettle the other day that is in a stand, we are going to use that for the kids to roast marshmallowsI am having problems finding old hats any kind of old hat like straw or an old mans felt hat would do. Remember the wonderful salad you had at Burlington, if you will tell me what to get I will get the stuff if you will throw it together

Hey gals...I am just stopping in to see all the wonderful plans. I still have the date marked in my calendar. I'm working two jobs now (1 full time, 1 part time), so I've been a little busy...plus I'm still getting over food poisoning from the other night. (icky!)

Anyways...I cannot wait to see everyone! :) Sounds like we will have a grand time.

Hey there Miss Wilma!

Just dropping a quick hellow and checking on all the plans. My goodness there will be quite a group! And all your plans and projects! I've been a bit out of it the last couple of weeks .... some stuff going on in the background of my life that I have to get done that has been keeping me busy. I feel like I've missed so much ... been trying not to let any balls drop. I will be in touch, promise.
