Taking things that I thought were "junk" or not being used anymore and using them for art projects. Like my mom's wedding garter that I cut up and used to decorate a Ring-Ding box for her for Mother's Day. Yep, that would be the thing that got me in the most trouble.

My dad is a smoker, and I grew up in the begining of the Just Say No campaigns. So, I would go through and break all of his ciggy's and then put them back in the package. He is a very gentle person, but I remember he would hit the roof when he would find a pack that I had gotten ahold of! My mom told me that she didn't know how or when I got his packs, but she said that I must have had the patience of Job to break them all and then stuff them back in!

I have never gotten into actual trouble for anything but boy, it did like to find me. Thank goodness I was sane enough to know when to have fun and when to go home... : )

Oh I rarely got into trouble as a child. Not that I couldn't find it. I just knew that I would have one heck of a sore rear end if I ever got caught. I had a habit when I was little of sneaking into grandpa's candy drawer. He never got mad at me in all of my life life though! Nor did my grandmother when she would find out that tons of rocks had just gone through the laundry with my clothes. Fool's gold sparkles so much nicer that way!

I was always a good kid, but I remember the one time I got a spanking for something I didn't do. When I was about 5 yrs old, I got a play makeup kit for Christmas. Back then they had actual makeup in them. Well, our dog got ahold of the bright red lipstick and ate it. Since he had red all around his lips and mouth, dad thought I tried to put makeup on the dog!

Jenny we are kindred spirits!! I was always at school sitting in the hall way because I couldn't keep my lips sealed. The other was fighting with my sister. Man alive! Did we go at it when we were younger. ** sniff sniff** I miss those days! lol

I have to type fast. The power went out in the middle of typing this already. Storm coming.
I never got into trouble more than once for the same thing. I learned my lessons! But the worst thing I ever got in trouble for was in 8th grade:
One of my best friends wanted to play a "practical joke" on a teacher. She asked me to open the door back up to let her back into the school after she played her joke. Turns out she had a container of paint and she threw the paint on this teacher's car. Some joke. I let her back into the school and we both ran to our classes. The next thing I know, I'm called down to the office. I went into the principal's office and there was my mom. I automatically thought "uh-oh". Then I got all the way into the office and there was the principal and my uncle, the cop! I loved my uncle dearly and thought he was just the greatest, but when I saw him in that office, in uniform, out of his jurisdiction, I knew I was in for it and instantly broke into tears and confessed all!
I don't remember what my punishment was, but I do remember my friend was mad at me for fessing up. Well, I never did anything she suggested or asked of me again after that anyway. She turned out to be a rather scary person as she got older. She had serious anger issues.

Oh gosh, I got into trouble for all kinds of things... blabbing things my parents had said to other people, doing things I wasn't supposed to... but mostly for getting rough with my little brother. He was very annoying as a kid! At one point I had recently seen the Karate Kid, and the next time my brother started annoying me (and wouldn't leave me alone even after I asked him) I hauled off and did a roundhouse kick to his face... it started his lip bleeding and of course he told mom... needless to say I not only got a thorough spanking by dad that night but was also grounded for WEEKS.
It's all good though, we have a pretty good relationship nowadays, and we still tease each other about that incident. :)

ohhh .. tell us more! tell us more! what kind of 'trubble' did you get into?
i was a goody-two-shoes in school .. but i can distinctly remember telling my history teacher something one time that i'd heard my 'nannie' say all my life: (i just could not do some sort of railroad map he insisted we do).
YOU CAN'T GET BLOOD OUT OF A TURNIP!
(he replied .. "i've had a lot of bleeding turnips in my class over the years"!)
i do believe that is the 'wildest' thing i ever did while in school!
i want to re-live those teen years vicariously through you! tell us some fun stories! xo

Ah yes - the high school years.
Mine were a wierd combination of showing sheep throughout the west, participating in 4-H and going to a VERY strict Catholic girls school. My parents thought I was well on my way to becoming a '70's hippie and dropping out of the civilized world forever. Hence the girls school. The sheep and 4-H were to keep me occupied and out of trouble. But, much to their dismay, they didn't cure me, just postponed the inevitable until I was in college and no longer under their rules.
Let's see - trouble - most of what I did mom and dad never knew about. They relied to heavily on the influence of the nuns at school and never realized (or caught on) that there were some dang nice looking farm boys at all these shows and moms snoring could drown out any noise I made sneaking outta the trailer. Most of my nights were spent socializing with teenagers from CA to CO to OK and TX. While days were spent showing sheep. No hanky panky to speak of, just good ole farm kid fun, with a few good hangovers thrown in, as I recall.
While at home, I use to drive my dads truck to check on my ewes in the middle of the night. (We rented a ranch several miles from our house) Not really a big deal, unless you're underaged - 13 - 15. I told my mom years later and she said she was SHOCKED that I would do such a thing. What they don't know won't kill'um

There were times I could have been in some real trouble, in trouble with the law kind of trouble, but luckily never got caught.
But there was one time I recall getting my rear end lit on fire. There was this ole, abandoned and supposedley haunted house here in town. I had decided to see if it was really haunted and was going to spend the night in the old house by myself. First I needed an alibi, someone to say I was staying the night with. Trouble began there. I told mom I was staying with the preacher's daughter. Mom knew this girl and I talked and were on good terms but she also knew we weren't best friends. So she asked me for this gal's number and of course I didn't know it.
Another dopey move on my part was I planned my little escapade about a week after my sister got busted for trying to pull the same stunt. Well it didn't take mom long to put all the pieces together and figured out what I was up to. I never made it out the door.
My sister and I both got a whoopin with the paddle. My sister was smart. She cried on the first swat. She got a few more. I was never so bright growing up. But I learned from my mistakes. Come up with better alibis, don't hang out with your little sister and her friends they'll get you in trouble everytime and don't laugh when mom whips your rear end because the next swat will be way worse than the first one!

Sitting on my little sisters face with her eye glasses on, which would break, then she wouldn't get to play outside with me and gang.
I went to religion class only during one school year. I pulled the wig off of the nun.
My first piano teacher hit me with a ruler over my knuckles. That hurt. I asked her not to do it again, please. The next lesson she hit my knuckles again. I grabbed her ruler and whopped her across her knees. End of piano lessons.

Julie!! You sound like me! It seemed like I was always gettin into trouble for one thing or another. Mostly, what I can remember was because I stayed out too late at night. Alot of the times was because my younger brothers were always gettin into trouble and I was keeping tabs on them. I was the one to get into trouble for it though. Go figure!
