Is there a MJF knitting group online? I did a search in the forum a year back and couldn't find anything. If anyone knows where to go please let me know! Thanks!

I've only seen some postings in the crafting & stitching forum, but would sure love to have a knitting forum here!

Lately I've been stuck on round washcloths. I've got the pattern down pat in my pea brain and they go together so quick! I have so much yarn now! I'd love to swap some out. Got back into knitting (from my childhood) and went a little wild in getting ready to learn socks. Everyone is scarved-out and I'm not sure socks would be as appreciated for the amount of work that goes into them (except for my family). Not to mention that I regularly get second-sock-syndrome! A friend knitted up a "bazillion" bags one Christmas that needed felting. She said it was a "crazy mess" for her.... I've done a few hats and what-not. I seem to get bogged down in the process and never through the product! That's why I thought belonging to a forum might keep me on-task and away from UFO's!!!! I guess I didn't think to check over in crafts. Regardless, I'm up for a group if everyone else is.

Anyone up for a Knit-along? We could start with a round washcloth, could someone post a pattern or tell us which pattern to get?

Are any of you on Ravelry? It's a neat site for knitters and there's all kinds of free patterns available. I'd be interested in a KAL.

Would this be open for beginners such as myself? I am self taught and can do the knit and purl pretty well. I wouldn't want to hold you ladies up that are more advanced than I am though. I could really use the comraderie from other knitters as well as the helpful advice when I get stuck on something.

Repeat rows 1-20 seven more times. Bind off, leaving a long tail for sewing the seam. Sew cast on edge to bind off edge, and sew around center and pull to close hole.

It's amazing what you can find in your "stash" of stuff when you look for it. I found this wonderful pattern at:
http://www.mielkesfiberarts.com/dishclth.htm
So if you'd rather go to their site and copy from there....
ENJOY
Don't forget to post photos of your own dishcloths when you are done!!

I'll jump in as well! I am an obsessive knitter and now needle tatting from MJF is my new drug of choice!
So a little peer pressure to put down the tatting is in order!

Jennifer, you're more than welcome to join us! The more the merrier I always say. So, when would everyone like to begin on the pattern that StarMeadow was kind enough to post here?

I'm ready to start another one! The one on my needles is just about finished and I'll have more yarn left for a second! They whip up pretty quickly...I've never joined in a knit-along, so I'm not quite sure of the "rules"...Diana, you want to take the lead on this one?

Don't know that I'm qualified, since I've never done a KAL before! How about we do this if everyone agrees. We'll pick a date to begin, and then post what yarn we chose, post updates on how far along we are (with pics if you'd like) and then of course post when you've completed the project and also post a photo. Maybe we could take turns choosing projects for each KAL?

Let me know if this is agreeable to everyone, or if you have any other ideas. Of course if anyone here is an experienced KALer, feel free to take charge!

I would love to be included but have never participated in an 'along' anything! Do we sort of all start at the same time and then post along the way? Is there a deadline to finish?

That sounds great to me Diana! The yarn I've been using is Sugar and Cream (or maybe that's Peaches and Cream?). I know it's on sale right now at JoAnn's for 5/2.00$ (which I think is too expensive) but I usually get mine at Wal-mart for much less. I scored some at Michael's for 1$ a ball a while back (original price $1.69) I can usually do two of these with a itty-bitty ball left. Jenn, does your pattern look like the one I posted???

Angie, yes that's the basic premise. Do we want an ending date or shall we fly by the seat of our pants? I know sometimes life gets in the way of things, and I'd hate for anyone to feel pressured to get it done by a certain date. Why don't we set the start date for this Friday the 25th. That will give folks the chance to purchase the supplies needed. I've never done a round washcloth so this should be fun!

I want to do the knit along too.

There's a great website for knitted dishcloths of all kinds:

I'm a sock knitting addict but like to take a break from time to time.

Oh, okay that sounds fun and not too much pressure!
I'm in! (I work at a newspaper so am very familiar with deadlines. It would really really nice not to have a deddline too soon! )
This will be fun!

Thanks Marcia for the link, I have saved it in my ever expanding fav's list!
