Someone asked why their cauliflower didn't head....but now I can't find that post... Mine didn't either. And I'd like to know what everyone's response was to that.... Where was it?

I find cauliflower to be pretty finicky. My experiences with it is that it must be transplanted to the garden (no direct seeding), at the five-leaf stage. In a good year, I can sometimes transplant a little earlier, but never later. If cauliflower gets stressed with too little water, too much heat or warm nights when it is in the early leafy stage, it throws a sulk fit and will not head! Another thing is when I do my indoor seeding for transplants, I will plant a full flat and then two weeks later plant another. It is almost inevitable that one flat will be okay and the other won't be.

Well, I only planted 4 plants (no one at my house but me likes it) and 4 broccoli. My broccoli is fine...but no cauliflower. -- Wow! 4 flats....!!! I'm really new at this whole garden thing but I find 4 flats of anything to be waaaaaay out of my league! You must have a really green thumb, and fingers, and toes.....
