I started feeling very "green around the gills" recently and came home thinking I was on the verge of getting really sick. Took a hot shower and got into bed. I was dizzy, nauseous and had a killer headache that would not leave and I ached all over. OH no! Flu I thought! I had made a pot of this tea and continued to drink it until it was gone. I then fell into the sleep of the dead and didn't wake up until 9:30 Sunday morning. That is very late for me but I couldn't get over how much better I felt! Not sure if it was the tea or the uninterupted sleep (or the combination) but I am going to keep drinking this tea! Stock up, it's better than a trip to the doctor's!

Bramble, Sounds exactly like what I had suffered from 3 weeks ago...there is a bug making the rounds...and it leaves one exhausted for a week or so. Take care of yourself and get PLENTY of rest, I may have to try this tea as I have been feeling under the weather the last few days myself, like a UTI is coming on!

If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come.

I just finished a cup of the red roobios tea with pomagranite..it was so good. I have had a bit of the yuck this week too..sinus headache and tired all over. I think I may just have another cup...I havn't seen the honeybush type. Is it the celestial seasonings tea you are talking about?? That is what I have.

Bramble,
I too love Roobios tea, I have a celestial seasonings tea called Madagascar Red Vanilla-- Wow is that a treat, I add a little Stevia to sweeten and I would call it a comfort food! I have tried the kind with pomagranate in it, but,I think I'm spoiled with the vanilla now. A fancy coffee shop I stopped in at has roobios tea (The Republic of Tea Brand)GOOD HOPE VANILLA RED TEA, this one is really Yummie too.(just a little pricey)

Bramble, please share what brand you like. I looked in the tea section yesterday, and there are alot of them, but not the combination you spoke of.... so I didn't get any! Thought I'd get it straight from the source. Thanks!

Meadowlark, have you tried cranberry pills for a UTI? I have a history of those myself, and cranberry pills definitely help insure against it.

I just started working at an herb shop and we keep the Roobios as our cold tea sample all the time and have people come from all up and down the shopping center to get a cup with they have "something".

We also keep the Yerba Mate going for those who like hot tea and it's the same way.

Babies have strokes too.....

Sorry to leave you all hanging...we were away AGAIN this weekend. (Too much of a good thing I am beginning to think!)

I shopped at Wegman's supermarket and found this with a whole aisle of tea selections(delightful!)

Traditional Medicinals (www.TraditionalMedicinals.com)
Sebatopol, California 95472
Organic
Rooibos
with Honeybush
A Traditional African
Red Tea Blend (Ingredients: Organic rooibos, hibiscus flower, rose hip, honeybush herb (Cyclopia sp.)
18 wrapped teabags/ $6.49

Hope that helps everyone and if you still can't find it, let me know I could always send you a box! I haven't tried Celestial's blend but it sounds good too! I am a fan of their Sleepytime Tea from way back! Does anyone know if they still make Cinnamon Rose? That made such good Iced Tea!

Thanks Bramble, I'll go have another look... I know my grocery store carries some Traditional Medicinal teas, and my health food store does too, so if not one, then the other!

I have tried almost all of the available Rooibos teas and love the traditional medicinals too but they all are good. Some call it red bush tea, read the list of ingredients and it will tell you rooibos.
The traditiona medicinals that bramble used has other ingredients that would increase the effectiveness for use in case of a virus. It is a good pick me up anytime.

I think you guys are contagious, last night I too felt under the weather and I read this forum just hours before, and I had no such tea in the house, so I looked for it today and finally found some at the salvage store, the Madagascar vanilla Red anyway, haven't seen the honeybush, what brand is it? I can't wait to try the tea I bought today, am saving it for later on in case it makes me sleepy like Bramble. I wonder if you can catch bugs thru the computer, I felt fine till last night?? LOL

I'm not 40 something, I'm 39.95 plus shipping and handling!
