What year this model (401A) Singer was made??



Got it at a neighbor's yard sale for $10...thought it was really cute, and it probably has more functions than the new machine I have now, lol.

Thanks for the info...yeah, it seems to be from the late '50s through perhaps even the '70s...I would guess on the early end of that, too, though. :)

I cannot believe that eBay listing!!! If the person selling it knows what they're talking about, then boy howdy did I get a good deal! I almost feel guilty now...a steal!

It's awesome to find out it's so industrial! I just bought a cheap Brother machine for the odds and ends of crafts I do, but it would probably die just looking at some of the fabrics and such this Singer can whiz through.
