Hmmmm...well most people use their gain of knowledge to validate their beliefs and others rely on their beliefs to gain knowledge, so that's a tough one in some regards!

good point diana .. but if you were to not take in 'new' info and just made your "to date" beliefs stronger ... would you rather do that ... or .. (and i've been here) gain KNOWLEDGE which might have changed your perhaps childhood belief system entirely? BUT THEN .. THAT becomes your new 'belief system'.
yep, it is a two-edged sword.
i have had some deeply held 'beliefs' early in my life .. that through 'learning the bigger picture or more actual FACTS .. truly did change me. (but it's ALL GOOD!) xo
I would say both; as I am older I have learned quite a lot about life ; and still learning I have gained a lot of belifes in my religion I choose I have been taught and apprciate the scarifes it took to form the bases of my beliefs. I am truly happy with the growth of my personal belifes also I feel like I am still learning I keep a journal and write down the things I learn I write poems and devotionals which help me remember what I have learned I try to put them into my every day life But, It is very hard with situations as they are in my family Pinkroses
