Hi ...I'm new to this so please bear with me. My name is Chris and I live in a small rural town in Western Kentucky. Cerulean Springs. Population 500!! It has a post office and one VERY small store. We bought a big country farm house here about 15 years ago that had been sitting abandoned for nearly 20 years. It is now HOME SWEET HOME after years of sweat equity but we LOVE it and I can't imagine living anywhere else. There is nothing better than country life.

I am 42 years old and a stay at home "Mama" to a 3 year old special needs little boy named Will who is the absolute light of my life. I LOVE vintage linens and textiles and anything OLD. I especially love the 1930's-40's era and all the "hand work" the ladies used to do.

I sell on eBay and Etsy and always have a wide range of quilts, embroidery, pillowcases, aprons and such for sale. Check me out if you get a chance.

I can't wait to get started!!!

Howdy and welcome from Texas Chris-I would say you're gonna fit right in! You'll have to post pics of that old farm house for sometime-we'd love to see it.
I think you'll be real happy here.

Hi Chris,

A big welcome from Rhode Island. You are going to love it here. This really is the best group of ladies anywhere. The 30's-40's and 50's are my favorite time too! I always feel as if I belong there rather than here. I love the movies, the manners, the clothing and especially the music. Oh, and I am an old time radio nut, lol. Especially Jack Benny. I so love his cast. Dennis Day being one of my favoite singers of all time. Granted, this was my grandmother's day, but I can still dream about living in that time, can't I?
Take care and glad you joined us,
Marcy

Hello Karin and thank you! It is a beautiful town. Around the turn of the century it was a big resort town with a big hotel. People rode the train from miles around to drink the "cerulean blue" spring water. It was thought to have medicinal powers. It still runs that blue today (but it sure does smell) Thanks for checking out my Etsy sight.

Hi and Welcome from SW Idaho! Sounds like you're going to fit right in! The only thing I can think of that I have from the 1930's is my house!! It was built in 1939!! I am having lots of fun learning how to hang things on the walls - they're made of plaster!! But it is much better than where I was and it's mine!!! (well almost - do I have to include the bank?!!) I'm not familiar with the western part of KY but I was stationed at Ft. Knox for almost 2 years way back in the 70s (boy, do I feel old now!). Sure is some pretty country out that way.

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!

Welcome Chris:
I love handwork, also, especially crocheting. I also paint. I love quilts, and have several in my collection. I hate to use them because they are just too beautiful. This past year, I have put a couple on the guest room beds. Of course, as soon as I did that, my fat cat launched this awful hairball right in the center of one of the quilts. Oh, well... I hope you find it fun at the site. Hello to your sweet son. Take care. Have a great and happy day.

Thank you Marly for the welcome. This has been so nice getting to know everyone. I'm still a "newbie" and am not sure about it all but I can see it could become quite addicting. I have alot of quilts too but I keep most of mine stored away. I have two dogs who have quite an affection for making beds out of them. Thank you again for the welcome!! Can't wait to get to know everyone. Have a great weekend. Chris
