well, ya-ya's .. i've had time to sit and think upon our autumn gathering while my 'toes-ie' heals!
now .. there is indeed some 'paintin' that i want to get done before we all gather .. so's i can put back treasures on the walls. i love spring and autumn here the most! sooo .. i think we'll do a fun autumn-time gathering .. sometime in September.
depending on how many friends join us .. we might have to rent the cabins in town to stay in .. and jus' do fun stuff here at Freedom Valley.
It would be fun to make this a three-day weekend .. so we can include some side trips .. perhaps to Kathy Sugarbucket's wonderful log cabin shoppe and Luna's sheep farm (both about 45 minutes from me). And, of course, i would want to take everyone to my hometown of GREENSBURG! Some 'creating' would be fun too!
Now, this will probably not be a 'jus' farmgurlz gathering .. i have some 'city girl' friends who might want to join us too!
If we have only about a half-dozen of us .. we CAN probably all crash here .. i only have three guest beds in the 'stranger room' .. but we can put up cots on the back porch (i have three cots) and one single bed. there is always the HAMMOCK if you are adventuresome .. and oh goodness .. if we can get that 'outpost' porch built by then .. that would be another place we could put sleeping bags!
OH i DO love smaller gatherings too!!! Don't have to have tons of us here at once .. sometimes i truly enjoy having just a few gurlz visit at a time too! I think we get to know each other better that way.
Soooo .. we might just have to have one BIG 'day-time' gathering and scatter out some smaller over-nighters.
I sure do miss getting together each month with my 'doll club' gurlfrenz in maryland to make dolls .. .with some 'weekend' adventure thrown in in-between!
And i LOVE a 'variety' mixture of city and country girls .. we all learn so much from each other.
Well, i go to the doc today to check on the progress of my 'little toe' .. so far .. so good! been popping those 'anti-biotics' like clockwork .. it 'seeeeeeems' to be healing .. (the cut .. but it still looks NASTY!)
We're planning a trip to Niagra Falls next month and we celebrate two grandchildren birthdays .. one in August and one in September up in Toledo .. but we can work around those days.
Jus' e-mail me if you think you'd like to join us .. and i'll start planning some gatherings.

Hmmmm....It sounds like SUCH FUN >>> a girfriend gathering!!!!....I MIGHT try to get there from way out here in New Mexico! Would love to meet some of the other Farmgirl Friends!!! If I don't have to work when it is planned, I am thinking.....How could I possibly miss all the FUN!!
SOOOOO Frannie...Please do keep us posted!! And .... If I can make it, would love to help with the planning if you need someone else to help with anything!!

Late September will probably work for me. I have to be in NJ again in the early part of the month. It really would be great to have farmgirls from around the country. I might could host one or two here at the farm too. Whattayathink of that Frannie?

oh gurlfrenz .. i'm gittin' exciteder and exciteder!!! rene .. i sure hope you can join us! amy and joy .. it would be a delight to be with your gurlz again!! and oh miz audrey .. how fun to get together with you again .. after all these years!!! i'll be lovin' to hear what you think of Crooked Tree Hollow as opposed to Freedom Valley Farm!
luna .. late september is probably best for me too .. cuz' we have sofia's birthday mid-september .. and i'm wanting to go on an adventure with my darlin' daughter KRISTEN .. and i think early September will be a good time to do that!
It would be lotsa' fun to come to gatherings at your wunnerful sheep farm too!!! We can plan a whole weekend of fun events! I'll be lookin' at my calendar and figgering out some dates soon! xo

Sounds like such fun! I think I'll have to play it by ear, but I sure would like to meet some farmgirls face to face! Might be able to swing it - fella's off to meet some volvo buddies in Oct. a way down in Alabama, so maybe I can sneak away to Kentucky in Sept :)

We crossed inthe emails...I just sent you an email with some thoughts and ideas for a farm girl visit. i would love to hear from farm girls about what they would like to do here. Think wool, spinning, felting, dyeing, wool dollies maybe...

ha! luna .. we're crossing again .. i jus' e-mailed you about the 'classes' .. i think being able to travel and visit and take classes and learn and do and shoppe and create and gobble and gossip with gurlfrenz is a devine way to live life!

Frannie.....I Loved visiting at Crooked Tree Hollow!!! .... A Magical Place! Not just because of the Wonderful Primitives in your home (which were FABULOUS!!!) but also because of the warmth of the host! Life is about the wonderful people we meet along the way............Would really enjoy connecting again and having time to chat this time!!! Hope I can work it out!!! Might even be able to convince my Honey to take time off and drive me up in our RV (any good fishing places he could go to in the area??)....He has a kyak and knowing that at the end of the "trail" he would have time to go fishing might just be all I need to convince him!!!

oh audrey chile' .. we have the fabulous GREEN RIVER here .. we sometimes go canoeing down it! i'm sure there is some 'faster water' here too! i'll have to 'research it' for ya!
thanks for the sweet words sweetie! wasn't "Wee Folk of Cloth" lots of fun? who did you take classes with? have you been to any more cloth doll seminars since then? do you ever hear much from or about epb? (elinor peace bailey).
gosh .. i haven't spoken to her in ages! i'm sure she is still the driving force and indominatable spirit she has always been! i'd LOVE to come to California some day and surprize her at one of their doll shows or at one of her classes!
i've lost track of the 'artistic doll community' since moving to kentucky .. i miss my dolly gurlfrenz somethin' fierce .. don't find women in KY as interested in making dolls as they were 'up nawth'.
be sure to send me an e-mail saying you'd like to join us .. cuz' i'm jus' flipping them from e-mails into a 'folder' so that i don't forget anyone.
