We all have quart jars.... they are easily replace, but won't work for younger kids, but I've been using a quart jar. It fits nicely into the car slot, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any sipper lids that will fit a normal quart jar.
Any other eco friendly water bottle ideas that don't cost too much.

We use glass dressing bottles. They are a little slimmer and not such a big opening. I save glass ginger ale bottles as well for the kids. They are very thick glass...have not had one break yet. |

What an awesome idea! I wonder if you could use the lid and screw band on thbe quart jar and punch a hole in the lid and put a straw in it?...just to make it a little more "spill-proof." That is so cool! I'm going to make a couple for the car tomorrow!!!

Tupperware used to make sippy lids that fit their plastic cups. I don't know if T-ware still makes these but you might check thrift stores. They fit on the 16 oz. cups.

Libbie I love your idea with the straw. I just found a wrapped straw in the van & put it into the glove box...think I'm going to need this. Now I know what for. Thanks!
If anyone hears of lids with flip tops to fit quart jars...please let us know.

Okay y'all - I put some straws in the lids, and my boys and I are loving it! Kristine - thank you SO much for the idea - I never would've thought of it. AND, they call them their "adult" sippy cups - because mine looks just like theirs!

When the kids were younger we would have a quart jar for each person, no straw because we didn't have Alee's idea yet, but we had races to see who could drink theirs first.
A little competition helps the kids drink more water. It worked, they all drink alot of water. :)
