excpet for naturally occuring. I can't tell you how much better I feel. My food tastes better as I'm adjusting too. I can really taste the flavors. I read labels about how much sodium and sugars and the lower the better. I do use a little sea salt sometimes but try to go with naturally tasting. I don't do chips or soda anymore excpet as a treat.

I am losing weight slooowwwwlllyyyy but I think it'll stay off better.

Anyway, must get on the road but wanted to brag a bit!

Way to go, Winona! Food does taste much better once your taste buds repair themselves from the overly salted stuff. Isn't it great?

i never ADD salt or sugar to anything ... but won't turn away from 'chips' and 'popcorn' from time to time. i most especially love the chips made from veggies!

I know that when I found out I was Diabetic type2
I had to change my sugar intake
I can still have it ; but not all the time
I use the Splendor some like in hot tea
I do drink the dite drinks.
I can't seem to give them up though
It is amazing how much better you feel if you can quit things like that
Good for you !! Pinkroses

Wow, Winona! That is wonderful I wish I could do that. I've been fighting my sugar intake for so long, but I am weak....I love my Dr. Peppers too much. You keep your heart in it!
Cheers for you!!

I'm definitely a salt person...not really into sugar. I've always had the habit of salting everything before tasting it. Now I'm trying to cut back myself. I use pinches of salt (much less) instead of using the shaker. It does take a readjustment, but food does taste better. Good for you, Winona! Stick with it.

Winona, that is a great way to eat. I have never liked salt so I guess I am lucky there. But, I use pepper a lot which is ok. I never drink regular soft drinks, it's diet coke or water. I do like sweets now and then, but I am trying to make it more a treat than a regular occurance. I am betting you are feeling pretty good eating this way, and you are right the weight will come off and stay off if you follow this way of eating. Kudos to you!!

Good for you. It takes two weeks to form a new habit. Once you get past that mark, the choices become easier. I went three days without a soda. But then went to the movies, where it has become habit to have popcorn and a soda, though I got hte child's combo, much smaller serving.

On another board someone mentioned that our bodies do need salt. If you start to feel weak, you may want to adjust a bit. The trick is to cook with it and not sprinkle it on your food. Best of luck. Laurie
