Do you remember the Tupperware popsicle makers? Well, I found a dozen of these at a thrift over the weekend. i would like to make these for the nephmanies. Any suggetions besides just fruit juice? I thought I had seen a recipe for some with puree pear. Now I can't remember where. "sigh" my terrible memory.

Aimee, I make them sometimes with fruit juice and fresh fruit. I mix it in the blender a little bit and then pour it in the molds. It's a great alternative to the ones at the market that are nothing more than food coloring and artificial flavor. You could also try fresh lemonade. My favorite fruit smoothie is cherry-lime. I take about 1 1/2 cups pitted cherries, juice from 2 key limes, a tray of ice and water and mix it in the blender. I add simple syrup to sweeten it which is just 2 parts sugar to 1 part water mixed until the sugar dissolves. Have fun!!! Monica |

I never would have thought to put yogurt in them, Sheila. My mum had a set of the popsicle molds when my sister and I were little, and she always froze fruit juice in them. I think I'm going to experiment with yogurt now!!

In deceptively delicious there is a picture of Popsicle molds that are bigger than what I see in the stores. cute.. I need to do some research. My kiddos love the green smoothies in popsicles.

Here is my mother's recipe for popsicles. They have the best flavor, plus the Jell-O keeps them from melting so fast.
Dissolve the contents of one Jell-O package (any flavor with Kool-Aid flavor to match), one package Kool-Aid soft drink powder and one cup sugar in two cups boiling water. Add two cups cold water and mix thoroughly.
Pour into ice cube trays or sucker molds and freeze until almost firm, then push a sucker stick or a plastic spoon into the center of each cube or mold for handle. Continue freezing until hard.
Makes about 24 suckers. Then have a licking good time.
