I know that a few of you knew that my husband died this past November. I don't want to dredge up stuff but I had to show what my daughter made for her dad. Jolene, my youngest seemed to take this harder than the rest, although one never knows. We seem to be the silent type here. She had this tee shirt made with several images on it. I think she is going to frame it. It is real nice although my picture isn't the best.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Mary Beth but what a beautiful tribute to him. I know when my parents died, less than a year apart, I created a Memorial garden in my front yard. They had both served in WWII so I ordered some special WWII roses that I heard about. It helped me to work through some of my grief by working in that garden and made me feel like I was closer to them everytime I looked at it.

Awesome. I bet your husband would be so proud to see this. Veterans are (and should be) so connected to their time spent serving our country..I know my dad is still connected with all of his remaining service buddies. It becomes such a part of who they are. I am sure this sweet tribute from your daughter melts your heart too. You've got a sweet girl there. Jami in WA

What a meaningful tribute to her Dad. You must be so proud of her. I am so glad you shared this with us. Mary Beth please talk about him when ever you want to. I know from losing my daughter that sometimes you just want to talk. I have quite a few silent types here too.It makes it hard for me sometimes.

Thanks everybody for all the kinds words. Frannie: The words say: the poem by 'Author Unknown God saw you were getting tired, a cure was not to be So He put His arm around you and whispered "come with me'. With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fading away. Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Working hands were put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the very best.

Mary Beth, although it has been said over and over - what a lovely tribute. The two of you must have had a beautiful family and a lovely life together, because so much love comes through. May our Heavenly Father comfort both you and your children.
