On my blog I am posting a vintage apron every day except Sunday for over 1 month. These all belonged to my husband dearly departed grandmother. She died the week before mother's day. We plan on distributing them amongst the entire family in September on labor day picnic to be exact. But we wanted at least one spot where the entire family could see all of them sort of together as great grand ma (what my kids called her) had them. We have 6 posted thus far end every week six more til done that should take a little over 5 weeks and a little into 6 as there are about 30 or a little more of them that we have found so far. As we find more in the future I will add them to the group. I am trying to date them so if you know a date of a style of apron please just post a comment to that apron and leave the dates and why you think they are those dates. I know they are from about 1900 to 1960. But most are 1920 to 1940. Some even belonged to great great grandma. Pretty cool the embroidery on some other are just real practical and some real kitsch.

here is the link to just the aprons that GGH had
http://sunshinescreations.vintagethreads.com/search/label/GGH%20aprons

I figured some may not want to sift through everything on my blog to find them

look for the post in red about the give away

posted winners here one is from the MJF forum

thanks ladies there are lots more styles from smocks to clothes pin aprons and washing dishes made from plastic similar to shower curtain material it will be fun to post them all. Some gingham with chicken scratch more embroidered ones more that pin to bodice in stead of straps. I wish I could keep them all but I have to pick one as my favorite this is going to be hard. Then I will be lucky to get the one I want as we will pick in age order and my husband is near the top of the grandchildren number four age wise. which is good as there are over 16 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren some of my children are near top of the great grand kid list there are about 25 of them total so not all will get one them in that generation we are hoping to find more so both generations get one of the first generation gets two haven't really decided which way we are doing it.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

I have missed you beeing here
I have a few of my Grandmother's aprons
She wore the half kind ( mom's Mom)
While my Dad's Mom always wore the bib kind
I don't have any from her
She wore those that were of the farm variety
She wore bonnets when she was out in her garden working
or feeding her chickens

Such a treat for my eyes, Sunshine. Thanks for sharing these treasures with us. The butterfly one is my favorite so far. Just so delicate.

I am not posting this on my blog for a few more days but in the first week of July is my blogiversary two years if you can believe that any way. I am going to have a drawing for an apron I will make using a pattern I pulled off of one of great grandma harbaughs aprons. To enter the drawing when I post about it you will need to post one thing you really like about my blog or one thing you learned new from my blog in the last two years. I am hoping this will be fun for the readers and fun for me maybe I will see what I should focus on like I could focus on one thing for more than a few months.

Those aprons are just lovely sunshine. You are very lucky to have them. I'm sure it will be hard for you to choose one. You are limiting us to ONE thing we like about your blog? I have learned so many things from you on your blog.

Sunshine,
Do you use all of one piece of your lace on one project or different projects? Do you cut this to use it and if so how do you keep it from coming apart?

I cut my lace crochet only unravels one way so I cut about and inch more than I need unravel to where I need it and tie off the other side of the cut I pull out any stray threads but because it doesn't unravel that way it isn't to much of a problem but you do need to catch all the bottoms of the stitches that is where the pulled out thread from the 1 inch too long comes in I do a chain stitch with the scrap to catch all the bottoms of the next row and hold them still does that make since.

Sunshine, those aprons are delightful and what a slice of history. It brought a lot of memories back for me as I'm sure it did others also. My favorite is the first one...so unique, to me anyway. I've never seen such a beautiful apron. I am really enjoying this! Thank you so much for taking your time to share these with all of us.
