I'm curious what UnFinished Objects you might have in your craft baskets. I always have way too many things going, but eventually they get finished (my list of projects has grown quickly since I joined Ravelry). My current UFOs include:

A crochet USA flag afghan (1776 style) (Update: Finished!)
A star granny square table medallion (Update: Finished!)
A crochet thread doily with tatting edging (working on tatting now)
An aqua, mocha and sand colored afghan for my parents
A tatting sampler
Crazy quilt pillow
Painted t-shirts for Father's Day gifts (Update: Finished!)
Embroidered kitchen cafe curtain
Retro butterick "walkaway" dress
"Rose" square lap quilt

In the planning: another embroidery portrait (did Sis and her hubby for Christmas last year)
Holiday crochet hats and mittens for family
Crochet tree frog for my son
Crochet Spiderman rug for my son
Embroidered ballet slippers
Reverse applique corset style t-shirt from Alabama Chanin

Current UFOs....(this was a creative subject line and I had to take a peek at what it was:) )

lets see:
embroidered pillow cases with butterflies I only have one done and that's only partial
Ohio State quilt..gotta put the back on and quilt it
crocheted blanket for my sister Gold/Brown/Maroon Wheat Pattern
Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Sampler
Two doilies for mom's window
crocheted baby blanket
embroidered pillow case (Curious George for my son and Strawberry Shortcake for my shortcake!)
a dress that needs ripped out and the waistline moved up
various pants, shorts, and skirts that need taken in
crocheted dish cloths

Heehee! Well, this was an eye opener. I didnt realize I had these projects waiting until I sat back and actually thought about it.:)

Oh YEAH!!! I'm not the ONLY one who has UFO'S coming out her ears!

let's see---

4 quilts (3 hand sewn, one by machine--none of them even HALF finished!)
Way too many Dollies to count
1 Elf I started for my borther's 18th b-day (as a joke!) He's now 25!!! (my Brother, not the ELF! He's almost done-- just needs ears and a pair of PANTS! The Elf, not my BROTHER-- LOL!)
Several Embroidery and cross stitch projects (one was supposed to have my oldest sons handprints on it. He's 18 now, so they're too BIG to fit on the canvas!)
3 Afghans.
Victorian Doll clothes (need hems and buttons-- and dolly needs a BODY!)
Teddy Bears (made from my mothers ugly old Muu-muu's-- but my siblings will appreciate them!)
A family of Dollhouse dolls (cloth-- they are all naked and some still need faces)
Several Crochet Doilies
One half knitted scarf
A wedding dress that needs a zipper and a hem (don't ask me why. I just thought I'd give it a try! I don't think it will FIT anybody either!)
A pair of Pantaloons
The bodice for an 1880's Ball gown (hand-sewn)

Hmmm..... there are MORE things, but I can't remember off hand what else there is. I guess you could say I'm the QUEEN of procrastination. And I get side tracked VERY easily. (Ya THINK?) Guess I better dig out all my "UFO" totes and get SOMETHING finished! (sigh....) But you know, I REALLY want to try my hand at making soap.... (HA! HA! HA!)

SEE! This is just crazy isn't it?

Quilts for nearly every living family memeber that i own.. & those I've long dis-owned.. Yo-Yo's spilling from every drawer, box, cubbard & crannie.
Painting projects.. some I remember what they were meant to be... some I DON'T.. seasons long past.. Gifts for people that Gads.. I have no idea WHY i was doing this for them.. I sit & wonder looking at that project that is now too many years old & think to myself.. "Wow.. did i really like this person all that well? & Where are they anyway???"
(I know.. that last bit makes me sound pretty awful.. but it could have been the OTHER person that was the goof too ya know..!)
Scrap booking & Altering projects that i now have NO Idea what my main goal may have been..
Just so many things sitting in so many different stages..
it's like this bizzare museum of a very strange
'Kathie This is Your Life' & you can see stages of where i was in different eras!
Not so sure it's a good idea to try to place it sometimes!
Just move forward!

I am with Karin though.. Brain overload on trying to calculate it all.

I find if I don't take stock of what I have in the UFO pile every once in awhile, they never get done. Stuff made for holidays seems to rise to the top faster, not surprisingly, but you know it is bad when I am planning a whole room around around my crafting (instead of the corner it currently overflows from).

Oh Kathie, I'm sooo WITH YOU! Your post made me laugh so hard! I look at my stuff too, and I think, "I started this dress when my neice was THREE! She's SIXTEEN now, so I think it's a little out of date"--- oh my. What to DO with that stuff? Anyone got any suggestions?

I have so many things in my UFO pile, I wouldn't know where to start listing them. I have tons more since teaching myself to crochet a few months ago. I too have quite a few on Ravelry, Kimberly! I found you on Ravelry and added you to my friends.

Well, if you want to be hip farmgirls, you can "re-purpose" those UFO's that are "dated"...it's the latest thing with the "in" crowd, ya know, especially the younger set, college aged getting into sewing for the hipness of taking old stuff and personalizing it to be really "unique." Who knew farmgirls would lead the crowd on being hip...and I'm not talking about a measurement 8 inches below your belly button.

Ya know.. I think half of My Problem is that I tend to misplace half of My projects! or HALF of their materiel.. thinking I'll get back to them later! OR the very worst.. is STASHING it all.. not dare letting everyone see how much crap I REALLY do have going on at any given point.. that I Loose track of where I've hidden these projects.. Hiding them.. EVEN from Myself! I'm such a doof!

Tracy.. Jeez.. We're really on the same Plane girl.. I don't know how many things I've started for someone that could NEVER EVER fit into something I'd originally thought of for them..
THIS is almost as bad as that horrible habit of "BELATED FILM DELELOPING!"
I turned in so many rolls one time My daughter & I took hours trying to figure out who some of the people & kids were once..
There was this baby we kept seeing in some of them.. We were like..
"WHO!! is This Baby???" It was the Absolute Freakiest thing!
We were judging by MY Kids ages.. (Who in the Pics were in late Elemantary or Middle School.. & the Daughter at THIS point was Now in her Mid 20's!) & where we lived.. & the other People..
& there was THIS BABY! On the floor.. in someone's Lap.. holding a Bottle! My Kids.. several friends.. FINALLY.. there was something about his face.. My Daughter said.. Oh Mom! It's Zach!
(My Nephew Zach is Now 16.. yeah..talk about feeling like Pond Scum....)
Poor Little guy.. may have well have been some Baby Photo Shopped into my dang Pictures!

* NOTE To SELF* Take Film to Wal-Mart!!

Digital cameras have solved that problem for me. Soooo much easier to just upload your photo into your computer. Prices have become really reasonable too now.

Oh Kathie! WHY'D you have to mention FILM??!! I have 8... count 'em.. EIGHT!!! disposable cameras that need to be developed. I know for a FACT that one of them is from my oldest son's 8th grade graduation and dance. That was 3 YEARS ago!!! I just hope they are still "developable" (is that a word? Well, it IS NOW!!) How long does the film in disposable camera's last anyway? As for the other SEVEN cameras, I have absolutely NO IDEA what is on them!!! Do you suppose, Kathie, that we were separated at birth? (LOL) Hugs! ~~~ Tracy

I am laughing so hard at this thread. We are all overachievers, and I just laugh at the list of "What was I thinking?" when you find a project years old in an area you did not even remember using to hide it.

I just gave awaya ton of beads to a church for their activities. No more haunting me of unfinished ideas opening that cupboard anymore.

I gave away a ton of half aprons collected for pennies as I wear full ones and have no idea how to incoprate theminto my decor for our small home. They went to a friend who displayed some, wore one and gave others to friends.

I have lots of swapped quilt blocks waitinf for me to make quilts out of them. My goal this past month has been getting fabric for sashing and borders for them. So, my crazy nine patches have a dotted sashing, my red, white and blue have two fabrics for sashing and borders, my spring blocks havew a dynamic orange print to make them pop. SO my last three MJF quilt block swaps will be made into quilts this year and early next year at the latest. I like to think of them as works in progress. LOL

My yo-yos are in a jar for decoration and used as needed. I pulled some for two Bubble Dresses I made last week. I like to think of it as art.

I am working on a scarf as a take along project. Would you believe I broke the one needle today after 8 years of owning these hand me down pink plastic needles? How sad is that? And, I was thinking of finishing the last ball of yarn at tomorrow's daughter's appointment. Bummer. Will have to wait for trip to Walmart or Joanns for replacement needles.

I love seeing how diverse you all are. I also like to see I am not the only one who goes through stages of interests. I realize scrapbooking and card making are not my favorites, but I make these items occasionally. I remember making folded diaper cards for son's borth announcement. Very cute, but wore me out. I made macrame items one year. No more bracelets for a while. I always return to sewing, though. It is my absolute favorite hobby. baking takes a close second.
