Anyone know of a good source online for free tatting patterns? I'm looking for patterns for edging sweaters, pillowcases, and anything else that comes to mind. I love the instruction in MJ's book but I'm looking for a bit more. Thanks.

Try here. They have tons of links and there must be something you are looking for! I've already bookmarked it for me.

Thank you! For those in the know, is tatting with a shuttle easier or harder? Needle tatting, I find, is quite easy.

For me the shuttle just looks a million times tougher. The needle is pretty easy. Isnt it relaxing to you?

Shuttle tatting takes some getting used to, but once you get the "flip" of the knot, it's simple. I like both, but actually do better with a shuttle. I have my great-great and greatgrandmother's shuttles. I love using them, only I am sure that I am not a nimble as those two were. :) My dad says he remembers his grandma sitting in a chair, watching TV and tatting. Watching TV?! There is no way that will ever happen here. I have to concentrate on what I'm doing or else all you-know-what breaks loose. :)
