I finally got around to posting some of the cool things I got while visiting with Janice in Louisville last weekend. It's a grey day today, so sorry for the lackluster colors :)
This is the Brighton earring tree. I got it for .50, it retails for $25.00. Cool!
This is the lovely little violet pot made in England by James Kent (whoever he is ). Just bought a violet this am to put in it...also got a Gardenia which I'm VERY excited about!
This is a close up of the pattern on the pj's that still had their original tags on them. Silly people who gave them up, these pj's are GREAT!!!
This is the bunny print I purchased from the Antique store. The print is out of print, signed and numbered and retails for $195.00 unframed. I got it (framed) for $50.
These two are just for fun...the blocks are from Miss Wilma's when she was last here in Burlington. Each side has a different scene, I just like this one for now
THE ROSES ARE FINALLY IN BLOOM!!! And they smell divine.

I know, I know! I could NOT pass them up. Couldn't believe that someone gave them away.
Those are my roses, Lisa. The darker of the two is called Benjamin Britten and smells like wine and pear drops (mmmmmm) and the lighter is Carding Mill and smells like myrrh. Very lovely roses altogether. I'm happy with how they've bloomed this year, after last year's ice storm and drought.

Thanks, Jeannie :) That's our wedding portrait. I love it too, it's the most content I've ever looked, I think :)
Jus said for our 10 year anniversary, instead of renewing our vows, we'd just renew our cool hair do's!!!

I told you we thought of you while we were out and about, Nancy. Maybe I was "channeling" you!!!!
Kathie--when Miss Wilma opened her booth at Burlington that morning, she had just unwrapped them and I jumped on them. Within 3 minutes, I'd unloaded my wallet of half the money I came with, but I sure do love those blocks!!!

Thanks, Carol Sue :) I am always surprised by what folks will give away--maybe someone has even said that about something I've given to the thrift as donation...Those blocks from Miss Wilma's booth are just amazing. I've never seen anything quite like them--they are probably German, I think. The subject matter is very fairytale, and the illustrations are very European. Could be dutch, but the Germans had the market on Victorian toys.
I also have a yellow rose bush--it's more butter, and it's LOVELY, but the flowers are very delicate and don't last long, so I just leave them on the bush.

Thanks Zan! I thought it was a pretty little thing (the earring tree) and like I said, I have about 5 pair, so that will work It is very pretty on Jus's chifarobe.
Miss Wilma!!! Wow, that was a costly trip. Sure hope you had some good sales, but more importantly, that you had a good time. Bet it was hotter than a firecracker down there!!!! Can't wait to see all your finds, and to hear your tales :)
