I just got this email from a friend with a PDF of a cookbook. Over 400 pages of recipes that supposedly copycat restaurant recipes and such. I won't use a lot of them but there are some I'm going to try like Fig Newtons, Peppermint Patties, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese, A1 Sauce, Heinz 57 sauce, Hellman's Mayonnaise, Miracle Whip and several others. I thought these recipes would be worth a try to have these items on hand without all the preservatives and junk they put into the factory-made stuff.

I can't figure out how to get a PDF file on here, but if anyone wants a copy of this, just email me and I'll send it to you.

Oh, and there's a recipe for that Old Bay Seasoning you gals are always talking about, too. And salad dressings. This is a neat book. I'm getting such a kick looking through it.

Lisa,
I'd like to check out that cookbook too, if you don't mind. I have a couple, but maybe not that one. A lady named Gloria Pitzer started doing some in the 80's, before Todd Wilbur came along and made a bunch of $$$ doing the same. Larronna@aol.com
Thanks,
Ronna

It's on it's way, Lisa. I'm not at all tired of this. It's just too much fun to share!

I'm heading out to the garden now. If anyone else would like a copy, I'll be in for a break some time this afternoon and I'll send it to you then.

I tried the Hershey Syrup recipe using organic sugar, vanilla and cocoa. It turned out thinner than store-bought, but tastier. DH and dd loved it. I thought it was a bit too sweet and I think I'll double the cocoa in the next batch and see how that tastes to me.

Anybody else try something? How'd it turn out?
