Hello everyone. I'm a new member from Texas. I'm single (widowed) and I love photography, gardening, embroidery, mixed media collage art, recycling, cooking and baking, blogging, country and vintage decorating, and anything crafty or artistic. I work for a public (PBS)television station. My livestock consists of two very interesting cats.

I've enjoyed reading your forums for the past week and love MaryJanes Farm. I recently subscribed to the magazine.

Hi Shelly,
I am nowhere near Texas. I have often wanted to visit. I have a dear friend who lives in Austin, so maybe some day. I'm sorry to hear of your drought conditions. Somehow it doesn't seem fair when there is lack of moisture in some places and flooding in others.

I visited your photo site. I am hooked on windmills and yours were beautiful.

Welcome to the site and I hope you come back often.

Betty

Thank you Betty!! I appreciate the comment on my photography. While my husband was very ill for 7 years before he passed away, I needed an outlet to shake off some of the stress. I found the answer when I got me a digital camera. I couldn't go far from home, so I started taking photos of windmills, because they are all over our area. I made it a challenge to get as many as I could. I tried to relate to windmills as being strong and stood up against all the elements and changes. It was a great artistic diversion.

Thanks so much again for the welcome and the nice comments! If you ever get to Texas, you can come to my home for a barbeque!

I visited your blog again a few minutes ago. I copies the "Famous Cream Corn" recipe and the recipe for the stain removal. Can't wait to try the corn. I have put sour cream in corn before, but never cream cheese.
