Meet Edith (Edie)...our new rescue pup! I'm so thrilled to have a LAP FULL of Corgi! Luckily I look great covered in dog hair!
This is Edie's photo taken at the shelter.

Edith is a girl. Edie (ee-dee) does look like "Eddie", so I probably confused everyone. She is only 3 months old and such a sweetheart! I am shocked that her owners never even called the shelter to look for her...She is cuddly, housetrained, knows basic commands & sleeps all night without a peep! Not to mention adorable.
We also have a 3 year old male, Walter, who was rescued last summer. He's such a gentle sweet guy.
I am completely enchanted by these short little dogs! Do you have corgis Kathie?

Edie looks like one fabulous corgi, they are sweet dogs. Afriend of mine has two old corgis, very sweet, I love to see them lie down for a nap with their tiny legs - they kind of look like my old Electrolux, , fur covered with little legs instead of wheels. Weren't you lucky to take this girl home with you....

Congrats Rhonda! I would soooo love a Corgi one day-- but right now I have the next best thing! I have a little Chihuahua mix (along with two pure-breds-- ROTTEN little beasts!! but gotta love 'em! LOL) that was given to me by my niece two years ago. He had the strangest habits-- he would nip my oldest sons heels, pull his pant leg etc...
My husband made the comment one day that he had "Herding dog" in him, but he didn't LOOK like any herding dog I've ever seen--- Until I started researching the Corgi breed. Their personality "profile" so fit my little dog! Not to mention something about his LOOKS are a bit like a corgi (though he weighs a whopping 8.09lbs!!). He even herds my sheep for me when they get out!! All I have to say is "Get 'em in Jack!!" and he starts "tracking" like a border collie. So CUTE!!! He's the PERFECT size for my mini-sheep and goats! Such a sweet little guy and so loyal and brave too.
Enjoy your little Edie Rhonda, she's such a lucky girl to have found such a wonderful home! ~~~Tracy

Thanks for the good wishes everyone!
Karin, what an apt description! LOL I do enjoy seeing them flat on their backs with those stubby legs straight in the air!
Tracy your little guy sounds like a hoot! I'd love to see him getting the sheep & goats in! My mother, who is in her 70's, loves to run across our huge yard to get the dogs to track HER! She comes inside breathless and laughing at their "play"! Talk about a funny sight!
Took both dogs to the vet yesterday for checkups. They did great! I was shocked at how well they rode in the van together and also how well behaved they were in the office. Edie can be pretty "busy" (she's 6 months old), so I didn't know how she'd do. I am reading The Dog Whisperer and thinking obedience training for her. LOL Walter is a sweet, gentle dear. Very Un-Corgi like really. The males tend to be the quieter, gentler sex in this breed.
Thanks again ladies! Rhonda
