I got a haircut yesterday from a new stylist... and it's AWFUL! I'm pretty easy to please, so the fact that I hate it means it's pretty bad, though I will admit that there's no bald spots. So here's my point:

Do any of you wonderful gals have a knitting pattern for a lacy, lightweight, cotton stocking cap or hat? Preferably one that knits up kind of fast, since I'm really not in the mood to sport this look for the next two weeks 'til it grows out.

Thanks!

this is my favorite hat to knit. I don't "do" complicated patterns and it knits up fast for me. ;) ( available in crochet AND knit)

Thanks, Jennifer. I scoured part of that page late last night, but couldn't stay awake long enough to see all the patterns. I do love knitting central, though!

Bonne, thanks for the pattern.

For a quick put-together hat. You use a large oval doily. Thread it with very thin white elastic.

Brilliant! My grandma gave me a few that she made, I'll bet they'd be perfect. Thank you!

I'm usually not so danged picky about my hair, but since I already had very short hair, I now kind of feel like I look a bit too boyish.
