I stopped by my favorite little market on the way home from the office, got a loaf of baguette, a bottle of french Rose, some of my favorite goat cheese (made with black pepper, wrapped in a fig leaf and soaked in brandy), and came home to have a VERY lovely light supper, including a pippin apple left over in the fruit basket on the table.

It rained most of the early evening, and now the sky is the same color of this Rose--lightly apricot-pink and the grass and every other living thing is a vibrant green with the exception of the two lovely cottontail bunnies that just chased one another into the misty wood.

Oh...what a lovely evening by myself
Such a lovely night

Sherry, Alee and Miss Wilma, you're welcome to come over and sit on the covered porch with me. I love my husband, but I really do cherish these Friday nights when he works. Such a good way to start my weekend, taking care of me, which I don't do much of--as I'm sure you are all guilty of, too.

Alee..I'm so glad that Nora is more herself today--I'm sure you're very relieved....get Doug to get a bottle of Rose on the way home--you deserve it, girl!

Miss Wilma, what a lucky thing in your postbox today! We had two bunnies just like the one's your friends had at Burlington, just this same time last year (thanks to our Lab, Elie)...we let them go after I fed them with a little eye dropper until they were ready.

These two bunnies were older....and I dare say, In love

C'mon Zan, and on your way, we could all use some more of this spanish goat cheese that I mentioned--Miss Wilma finished off the last of it ...the temperature is so nice right now--a sort of steamy day has turned into a nice cool, clear evening after the rain.
