A guy parked his truck in front of my window at work. I could see a VERY large picture window in the back and so I went to the office across the street from me to ask him if he was on his way to the dump (it looked that way). He was a very nice man and said he was taking that window to the dump but if I wanted it, he'd be happy to drop it off at my house!

So, I cleared it with the boss to take an early lunch and met him at my house (1/2 block away). He not only had this very large window, he also gave me a smaller sliding window and double full-glass doors! How cool was that?! I'm so excited. I can hardly wait for dh to get home so I can show him my score and impress on him that I now have enough windows (and the doors) for my greenhouse!

This has got to be fate. The last of the windows AND the doors came right to me! The greenhouse is just meant to be!

lISA,
That was a very good thing. What if you hadn't been in the window looking out! I bet to buy all those windows would have been a pretty hefty amount.

Don't you get all excited with a "find" like that!!! There's nothing better--and it's free too.

The free finds are ALWAYS the best! I'm sure it helped that I was only a 1/2 block away AND in the same direction as the dump. But, still, he had to untie his entire load and move some stuff to get them out and then re-tie everything back down again. I did help to unload them, though. I figured that was the least I could do since he was kind enough to bring them to me.

DH and I have been collecting windows for 2 years now. Most we picked up at yard sales, a few were given by folks who just didn't want to deal with them when they replaced windows in their house and told us we could come get them and a couple were here on the property when we bought the house. Now we have enough to actually do it. I'm putting the crystal clear corrugated fiberglass on the roof anyway because I'm afraid a heavy snow load might break the glass. My mom had a glass roof on her greenhouse when I was a kid and we had to replace broken panes every year. I don't want to have to deal with that.

I'm still giddy with the idea that we have everything but the concrete for the footing and the fiberglass. And those won't be difficult to get this summer. I'm hoping we can get around to it and have it completed before winter. But the necessary repairs to the house and fences have to be done first.

So, I'll be working hard this summer to get everything done, but I'm seriously motivated now. Woohoo!
