I have got to say- The Salvation Army is the best store...EVER!
I got a 7 piece tea set that I don't think was ever out of the box! $3.50
A handmade beaded purse that I think is pretty old. The picture doesn't do the colors justice. $.50
A scented lapel pin $1:
A pair of opal costum jewelry earings, a gold chain with a children's sized pearl ring (usually worn as a mother's necklace), a green blouse pin and a hidden clasp chunky metal bracelet. Each $1 And the hanky was hidden inside the purse!
I know! Isn't it crazy! I could have bought about $50 worth of costume jewelry! There was also some antique baby clothes and antique baby blankets. They were a little "pricey" at around $20 but they had beautiful boxes still with them from the 1950's.
Alee, you sure are giving Nancy Jo some competition! What wonderful finds! That beaded purse for $.50? Amazing. Not to mentio all those other goodies. I'm so happy for you.
I about couldn't keep my face straight when I asked how much it was. They could easily have priced that at $5 or more and it is probably worth much more depending on the age. :D I love the pomander lapel pin too! It is much more beautiful than my second rate camera can show- my good camera is out of batteries.
Alee, Look at you!! You have the thrift bug now for sure, it can't be controlled or stopped once it starts. So its good shopping from here on out. Retail is almost a thing of the past. As I sit here typing I have on a pair of Liz white shorts and an IZOD top, total cost 3.98. So think of all the money you are saving while out there spending. NANCY JO
Alee, thank you for telling me about it. I got a ton of fabric and the coolest vintage camel coloured wool coat all for around $5. That place is dangerously addictive!
Annika- There is a BEAUTIFL leather and wool coat that I lusted after last time I was there but it was $20 and I have to ask Doug. I hope it's still there on Monday!!
