Does anyone know how to get out the "smelly dog" smell from a dog collar? Our first-born(dog) had to be put down and we kept the collar. I am making a shadow box for my husband. I want to include his collar, a paw print, and a picture of him and my husband hunting. But the smelly dog collar needs some attention. Any ideas will be welcome.

Erin-
have you thrown the collar into the washer with a load of towels? That is what I have always done with my dog's collars when they started to get grungy and smelly. If it is REALLY bad- put in a cup or two of baking soda in the wash.
Unless it is a super delicate collar it will be fine. Then just let it drip dry.
