Does anyone have a good tasting, lower fat, not so many preservative Ranch dressing they can share? Charlie loves Ranch but I hate the chemicals in it. I would rather make some weekly than buy store bought. Thanks.

P.S. Forgot to add I like a nice thick dressing, one you can stand your veggies up in!!

Cheers,
Heather

Found this one for you- I bet you could tweak it to be lower in fat- but we all have to have our indulgences!

Ingredients
# 2 cups mayonnaise
# 1 cup thick buttermilk
# 1 teaspoon Accent seasoning (MSG)
# 1 teaspoon salt (scant)
# 1 teaspoon pepper (scant)
# 1 teaspoon onion powder
# 1 teaspoon garlic powder
# 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
Directions

1.Combine all ingredients and mix well.
2.Pour in jar and chill.

can use plain yogurt instead of mayonnaise to make it much healthier. Try a small amount first to be sure you and the little one are okay with the taste.

Hey Heather
This is hands down a winner & simple too
"Serving Size: 3 cups of salad dressing
Preparation Time: 3 minutes
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup heavy cream (33-35% milk fat)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
Directions: Place all ingredients in a blender, mix on high speed for 2 minutes, until thouroughly mixed and creamy. It may not seem thick enough, however, the salad dressing will properly thicken after it is allowed to chill. Store in an airtight container (such as an old salad dressing bottle) in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Serve and enjoy!"
This is courtesy of PNeumann over at Suzannesomers.com. She has a diet similar to Atkins, & there are some incredible recipes over there.
Of course this is a full fat recipe, but no fake food here!! YOu can substitute low fat for the sour cream & mayo, but I gotta tell ya, try it at least once with the full fat ingredients. I have also used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder.
This is the ranch that we know & love, but FRESH!
