Ok, so I started some pretty vocal threads here and I love reading and "chatting" about the important stuff we hit on. I am hoping to start a Positive Vibe to send out and get back.
No talking bad about others, the economy, war, our bodies, wastefuleness, etc. and instead, let's just focus on the world having a good, positive day.
I am really going try to get some good thoughts out there and keep the bad stuff out of my mind and mouth until Monday. The idea of contentment (thanks Alee!!) has really got me thinking...
Anyone else care to join me??
Cheers, Heather

Positive thoughts are always great to send out! Good idea, Heather!
I think one of the best ways to have a great day is "paying it forward" even if all you put out there is a smile- it can change the tone of not only your day- but the other's around you!
The other day my neighbor came over to borrow some baking soda. You know the old "Can I borrow a cup of sugar?" thing? It was GREAT! I loved it! Isn't it fun when something so small as a bare scraping of baking soda can make you feel oh so good?

I decided to have a tea party for Nora! We set up a little "table" with a milk crate, a book and a cloth napkin for table cloth, and a few pillows for seats. Then I brewed some lovely chai tea with sugar and set up the tea sets. One for Nora and I and one for the dollies!
We had "nibbles" of cheese sticks and turkey meat and milk in our tea! It was wonderful! And Nora did great with drinking out of the cup! I had to help her but afterwards she was practicing with the empty cup. We are going to have to do this every day I think because she is going to get that cup down flat!
Then afterwards-- It was SOOO cute...She was trying to help her favorite baby doll drink out of her cup and was trying to feed her bits of the turkey! It was SOOO darling!!!

Is this a request to share positive thoughts/ feelings?
Today, I met a lady from freecycle with a doll I had posted. On a whim, out the door, I gathered up a few more things that were laying around but I thought I should bring for some reason. When I got to our meeting place, I was so glad I had the extra things. She really looked as though she could use the items I had and was genuinely grateful. Is there a better feeling then that? :)

HALLELUJAH!!!
LOVING IT!!!
NAMASTE!!!
The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. "Nama" means bow, "as" means I, and "te" means you. Therefore, Namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you."
To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart. This is an especially deep form of respect. Although in the West the word "Namaste" is usually spoken in conjunction with the gesture, in India, it is understood that the gesture itself signifies Namaste, and therefore, it is unnecessary to say the word while bowing.
We bring the hands together at the heart chakra to increase the flow of Divine love. Bowing the head and closing the eyes helps the mind surrender to the Divine in the heart.

"dance naked" Oh Heather you just reminded me of a good friend of mine. She owns a horse ranch and fillies (baby girls for non horsey farmgirls) are much more desired than colts. So during foaling season and again at breeding she jokes that she is going to strip down and do the naked filly dance!

Hehee Frannie, my bellydance friends use Namaste, and my East Indian dance friends :) Ok, here is a good story: I saw a young guy on the train, mayb 19, and he was an artist. He had a huge pad and pencil and would draw portraits of people, BAM, just like that, lightning fast...and give it to them, free, before they got off the train. I already thought this guy was wonderful, but then, one of his subjects, a young woman, asked to see the pad, she then drew HIM (she was also an artist) and gave him back the pad! Now that's a GOOD New York moment!

Zan- That is so cool!
I visited New York on an art trip when I was a junior in High School. It was AMAZING! I LOVED the city! I even accidentally left my wallet on the toilet paper dispenser in the restroom at the Met Museum. As I was washing my hands another lady came up and asked if I was who I am and handed me my wallet. Oh my gosh! I didn't count my money until later- but not a penny was missing!
We sat and sketched in Grand central station- just people passing by and such. I actually had some people come behind me and watch as I was sketching. It was a little unnerving at first because I don't consider myself a great artist, but it was really cool when they told me they though I was a good artist! LOL

Namaste to everyone! I have had a good day of playing with fabric and getting swaps and other goodies ready to mail.
I found out that my DIL is having a baby girl!! YAY since my Neice is having a second boy...I've been ready for ruffles and girly fufu stuff for a long time.
Please keep my DIL, Timple, in your thoughts and prayers since she has miscarried twice but has made it to 5 months with this baby..the other two ended at 10-12 weeks. So I've very optimistic.
To top that off my neice is due September 2nd and Timple is due September 11....so the 9/11 baby's middle name will be "Liberty"..I thought that was pretty cool.
Anyhow, we must keep this an active topic..Positive good pleasing comforting energy is what the world needs the most and it really does encourage productivity. Our minds are not cluttered with the chaos of the "other side" of the coin.

Hey, The simple pleasures in life each day give such joy. Seeing my little 7 week old grandson smile and then he starts to try to coo. That o face is such a riot. Then there is walking out my door today and guess what????? I have a daffodil almost ready to bloom. The color is magnificient. Cheery yellow is always a boost to ones day. May each of you have a burst of color in your day today that makes you smile.

I like this idea very much. Heather thank you for starting the thread. It is particularly poignant to me right now because I'm afraid I'm at the crossroads of rather unfamiliar territory and before me are 2 clear paths. One path is light, positive, hopeful and bright while the other is dark, intimidating, thorny and frightening. I'm in a precarious place as I stand viewing these 2 paths. I am not supposed to choose a path. Instead, I am supposed to develop new tools and coping strategies for blending these 2 paths into one that I can call 'my life.' The problem is that I'm in a perverted bog of sorts. I can't seem to get any momentum. One minute I have a great sense of empowerment and light and in the very next moment, or so it seems, I'm plunged into a suspended state of worry and dread.
I take great solace in knowing that I have gained some insight into the fact that I'm getting stuck. I suppose that is the first step to creating new tools and gaining the energy I know I'll need to do the kind of blending required in the coming months.
As I stand at the crossroads with this idea of positive thoughts in my mind warming my senses these words come to mind. Compassion. Truth. Mindfulness. Consideration. Self-Respect. Humility. Honesty. Empathy.
It is my firm belief that I can be more positive if I better understand and adapt those words and their meanings to the very depths of my spirit. I believe when I have to speak the truth, even when it's difficult and painful, if I can incorporate the teachings of these ideals, my truth will remain on the more positive light-filled side of things. I am but a novice. However, my enthusiasm for learning as a means of coping with the wild pitch my daughter and family are now fielding, will, I think, be very helpful.
It is with great respect and affection that I write to say that I wish for you a bright, beautiful, love-filled day. ~julia hayes

Julia,
You reading your own written words can be very healing and balancing.. Affirmation cards placed at your most frequent stops in and around the house and these days I think one in your car would be very helpful.
Your own words right here that I have emphasized is a great place to start...and even make seperate cards with each of these words and their meanings written out.
((((hugs to you)))
