I was almost sold on the Sheer Cover tv ad.  Does anyone use any of the new mineral makeup? or (perhaps pressed powder instead?)
My skin can be dry so it seems common sense that I shouldn't use powder. I am also afraid that an automatic withdrawal from my credit card could be problem.
What is your experience with mineral makeup?

I picked bare escentuals over sheer cover because sheer cover is a liquid foundation, then minerals over it. I get all of mine from ebay. Since they come sealed and with dates, there is no worry. It lasts me such a long time, It would pile up if I did the auto-reorder thing. I checked out the shades at the bare escentuals website before I ordered. Bisque doesn't come with the starter, but it works really well as a concealer.

Hi Linda :) The Bed Bath and Beyond Stores and some others sell the starter kits for "As Seen On TV" items so you can try them out etc. I bought the Sheer Cover from there (much cheaper since the tv ones charge such outrageous shipping) and no rebilling :) I think the whole kit was about $20.
I had never worn foundation before so wanted to try the mineral sheer cover etc. and I really like it. I don't wear it often but when I want to weare make up, this makes it so easy! I don't have any liquid in my kit, just the travel brush and two shades of the mineral powder to blend to match skin tone. I really like it - also my skin feels really good after I've worn it, I have really dry skin normally :)

I also use Bare Escentuals and love it. I have sensitive skin and I never have a problem using their mineral products. I have considered trying the Sheer Cover line but don't want to pay for shipping. It looks like everyone is offering mineral cosmetics these days....

I've been thinking of using the Bare Minerals. I also have sensitive, dry skin. Does the make up settle in the cracks and crevices? Or will I look like an 18 year old with flawless skin?

what sounds good about this is it is pressed powder..not as messy as loose powder

I wish it did make my skin look 18 again but I'll settle for good coverage and a natural look instead. I found if I use too much or too heavy of a moisturizer it does tend to settle in wrinkles but if I use a light moisturizer (non greasy) it looks real natural and lasts all day!

I just started using a brand called Everyday Minerals. The are very inexpensive, and I really like them. I have dry skin as well, but they offer different formulas for different skin types. I get the Original Glo formula b/c it's less drying. It goes on really easily and takes less time then liquid foundation. The best part about this company is that you can order a free sample kit! Then you can try different shades and see if you like it or not. They only charge you less than 5$ for shipping.

Just a word of caution about minerals makeup. According to the April issue of "Conscious Choice" magazine says that some mineral makeup contains irritating preservatives and bismuth oxychloride-a byproduct of lead refinement-used to lend a pearly sheen to the skin.The SPF 15 rating give most mineral makeup can be misleading as well, that it takes a heavy hand application to achieve an SPF of 15. To stay on the safe side do not inhale mineral makeup based cosmetics and avoid using them on damaged skin. Avoid using any mineral makeup that contains bismuth oxychloride & look elsewhere for sun protection. I have had NO luck with mineral makeup and I've tried several brands. I guess my face is too oily or something. Within an hour of putting it on, I can see all my "imperfections" again. I actually have found success with Laura Gellar Makeup Studio (sold on her website, in Sephora stores, and on QVC). She has a baked powder called Balance-N-Brighten that works well on me...even though I'm as pale as a piece of white paper.

I think I'm going to stay with my Clean Cover girl foundation and save money, my debit card, and also my face.
