I was thinking that maybe we could host a herb plant exchange. For instance, if we have one particular herb that is fairly hearty and would survive a trip - a think most would wrapped in papertowels (moist) and in a plastic baggie - it would be fun to exchange a few plants. I have lemon balm and wood violets - Not sure how we could do this. Any ideas?

I'd be interested! I have Lemon Balm, chives and thyme to trade.

Kathy, what do you do with your wood violets? Tinctures, etc?

Jo I do make a tincture from the wood violets - supposed to be good for the breasts especially - also use them in balms and salves. I have yet to make my breast salve but have my oils all mixed and ready to go. If my attention span ever gets past that of a one year old - used to be a two year old - :) I will get things done. I am just feeling so damned over whelmed - Real quick let me ask you - has anyone heard from Georgann? I tried to get on Aunt George's house blog and could not - I need to get in touch with her.
Also, I love the color of the wood violets and they look pretty dried and in a tea mix. Mountain Rose Herbs sells some wonderful herbal tea blends - I adore herbal tea don't you?

Thanks for the info, I'd like to try growing some wood violets...

Haven't a clue about Aunt George, but you're right, I haven't seen her posting in a while. Can you do a search and send her an email through the website?

Hoe your world settles down soon, Kathy. At least the weather is getting nice now.

Give me a day or two to catch my breath, I am putting my Corgi to sleep tomorrow. He is going downhill fast and I don't want him to have to suffer or struggle to breathe. It will be a sad day tomorrow for sure. Pray for his little soul.......

Oh Kathy! I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking of you and Bagel today. I know it will be a very hard day for you. If you need anything or if I can help in any way, even if it's just to listen please let me know.

Love and Hugs

I have some very hearty rosemary that I'd love to share if everyone is still thinking of doing this!

Will figure out what we can do this weekend - any ideas how we should exchange, - who has what, what do they want etc? Any special tips on getting plants to a person alive through the US Mail?

I'd be interested. I have stevia coming out and a few others...I'd be interested in come more comfrey if anyone has some. OOO ans Shepherd's Purse is nice to have for my moms too!

As for Georgeann, she actually left the board on purpose and for a reason, that really I shouldn't share, but just to let you know. She is on my myspace friends list if you want to try to get ahold of her.
