To make a farmgirl's heart go pitter pat as she slips between the sheets!

I just remade the bed with fresh sheets (flannel since it was snowing*can you hear how disgusted I am?* today. I washed my MJF Grange comforter yesterday. Heaven! I absolutely ADORE this comforter. So nice and solid. Thick without being smothering, warm without be sweltering! I am one of those ladies that has to feel some substance above her- even on the hottest summer nights.

I put the Grange set pillow shams on the bed and it is just divine! I can't wait to climb in to bed and snuggle up on some nice warm sheets, pull the comforter up to my chin and drift off to sleep. If Nora wasn't asleep already I would run the vacuum so I could pretend the room was perfectly clean- but the fur monsters *we have moved WAY past dust bunnies* will have to be tamed tomorrow. After a good night's sleep. :D

Sounds wonderful Alee. Any pics by chance of the comforter and shams?

i love fresh bed linens .. and i love a 'pretty bed'. i'm going to put the 'summer sheets' on the 'stranger room' beds today. (take off .. wash and air out all the heavy quilts, blankets, coverlets from winter-time).

i also ADORE vintage bed linens .. there is nothing like the feel of a the softness of a beautiful time-worn linen pillowcase.

I totally agree Frannie- it is too bad we don't find many vintage linens around here but I do keep my eyes peeled...every once in a while something gorgeous shows up and you can bet it is washed and hung on the line in a moment. I surely USE all of my vintage linens no matter how fancy or plain.

By the way- Mary Jane's sheets are the only new linens I have found that have that old linen feel and they are organic to boot;) I give sets for wedding gifts and they are always treasured.

Love clean bedding and the curtains blowing out letting in nice fresh air. I was thinking about the MJ sheets the other day. Are they soft? My sheets are 400 thread count and soft. But I was thinking of getting another set and thought about trying the MJ ones.

Nancy-
I would say they are crisp, I just hung mine on the line and they look so pretty. They have beautiful lace along the edge and are the kind of pillowcase that tucks around the end (instead of being open on one end). I am sure you will love them.

Nancy- Yes, I agree with Rebekka- they are crisp and oh so nice and smooth! I love how they feel and since they are cotton- the more they get used the softer they will get. I can imagine after years and years of wear (because these will take forever to wear out I am sure) they will feel like butter like the old sheets do!

Here is a picture of our bed all freshly made up! The Comforter is a bit wrinkled here as I forgot to take it out of the dryer until it was cold.

So pretty, Alee. Thanks for showing it. Wish I could just crawl through the screen and take a little nap. ;)

Doug just woke up so I am airing the bed for at least an hour (stinky man! LOL) and then I am going to make it up again all pretty. It was so nice to crawl into a perfectly made bed last night! *shhh* Don't tell my mom! LOL

During the hot summer months, I find I wash my sheets more. I guess it's just after a hard days work I so love to get into a freshly made bed! I have found several old pillowcases at a thrift store over here and they are just beautiful. I always have my eyes out for handstitched linens. Susan
