I started my beans inside in a flat (they are still in the flat). Some of the beans sprouted a week ago and are doing great. But today, I noticed one that looked like the leaves got burned off or shriveled or something. I got my glasses and took a closer look and I was looking at the roots! So I tugged on it and out popped the bulbous leaves just as yellow as could be. Then I found a second one the same way.
Now, as far as I know, beans don't have to be planted with the "eyes" up or down. I have never had anything sprout upside down before. Oh, these are Kentucky Wonder pole beans, by the way. Has this ever happened to any of you gals?

Lisa- Last year I planted a bunch of Kentucky Wonders that grew to about 4 inches- beautiful healthy looking stems and leaves and then the leaves began to looked 'burned', shriveled up and the plants died...I am sure they were not roots up but they looked so healthy that I wonder what on earth is going on with these Kentucky Wonders in Idaho!
