oh my gracious..you gals shocked me today... and the day before yesterday. I waited until today to get photos of the goodies that have graced my mailbox. oh my word! you gals certainly know how to spoil a gal. Miz Frannie..the little stinker that she is..chose me for the "Farm Girl of The Month" for a sort of "Random Act of Kindness/show your appreciation/care package thing"... and my gracious if anybody should be showing their appreciation ..it is me...to all of you gals! I am speechless. Thank you all so much! -------------- I recieved a box today from Miz Frannie: in it were 2 dolies that I had did a swap for one of them then purchased the other..and then there were lots of goodies that Miz Frannie just wanted to share with me.. she knows that I collect little wooden dutch shoes and she sent 2 prs of those along with some lovely bits of embroidered and crocheted items and some bits of old lace to be used in my altered art creations.oh my what fun!and a copy of Mercantile Gatherings that I can't wait to look through this evening. ---------- of course Golda Lujean and waddles had to run and stretch their legs after that train ride all the way to Florida and they decided what fun would it be if both Marigold and Golda Lujean posed in the bird feeder just to say "hey we are Florida Chics now!" hee hee..they have such a sense of humor those two do.Thanks so much Miz Frannie!Love all the goodies and everything was wrapped so prety and smelled heavenly of sweet annie! -------------------
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00751.jpg)
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00754.jpg)
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00757.jpg)
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00758.jpg) ------------------ In today's mail also was a box of goodies from Lisa Marie cute Christmas themed bags with laces and bits of trim,a pretty bird notecard, and an amaryllis bulb. I can't wait to see the amaryllis grow. And will use the laces and bits for altered art. Thanks so much Lisa!I really liked everything.it will be so fun to mix the laces with bits of paper..ooh can't wait to sit down and start creating.
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00763.jpg) ---------------- Then I recieved this lovely jumbo bookmark from 22shortie/Rebekah it is so much prettier than the picture shows. Thank you! love it!
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00761.jpg) ---------------------- then Rebekkah Boysen-Taylor sent me the cutest homemade clothespins..so cute and 100 percent farm girly! plus a Farm Girl bumper sticker.and a bag of tea that I plan to enjoy this evening when I open that magazine from Miz Frannie.it will be terrific to sip tea while curled up looking at a magazine. Thanks so much Rebekah! ![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00765.jpg) --------------------- Then Miss Nancy Jo sent me a package of goodies too. Lovely scraps of paper cut outs to use in my altered art..a really old picture of a bird and some cut out teddy bears and a teddy bear ad scrap, and gosh..just so many cute bits and pieces and some vintage ribbons and lace. Thank you! Thank you! ![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00767.jpg) -------------------------- my gracious what a fun fun fun! mail day! You gals really made my day a super one today! plus...I have something else to share! yep!
I did it again..I stopped by the feed store to get Naomi a couple of bantams..to let her pick a couple out..and ..well..they had baby peking ducklings..but this time they had 2 crested peking ducklings and I had the feed shop owner help me to find a feamale duckling! this time..only 1 duckling! I won't get into having 2 of them as a pair again as the males do tend to become agressive when it gets to breeding season. So..I have only one now. And..I took a cue from the dolly name that Miz Frannie named one of my dollies..and named the duckling.."Marigold" ![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00715.jpg)
![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00709.jpg) ------------------- and..we have been watching a cardinal mama bird this past week nesting on some eggs..and lo and behold they have hatched today! ![](http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k170/TinaMichelle_2006/DSC00742.jpg) --------------------------- What an awesome day on my "farmette in the city!"

yes I got suckered in again..but..this time not with a pair of them. the ducks are fine as long as they are seperate..ha. each of my ducks were so sweet until they met each other and became girl friend/boy friend. this time only one by its lonesome.

I asked if they had found a home for Daffy and Sunny and they had..and I said o.k. Daffy didn't go in a stew pot did he..and she said oh no..he went to live on a farm with a pond and they found out that what it was..is that he needed another girl friend..one wasn't enough for him..once he got the new extra girlfriend he became sweet as anything to them. who'd have known?? but anyhow...a single duck will definitely be much friendlier and bond with us better than a pair of them would. back when I had just Daffy by himsself he was so very sweet. So I have no worries that this duck by itself will be just sweet too.

Isn't it strange...they almost sound like some high school friends I had!

I'm glad you enjoyed your package, Tina. I ALWAYS save those little snips of fabric and lace and ribbons thinking oh, this would be enough to dress up a pocket or something. But, I never use it. I figured you would get much more use out of them than I would. I hung on to those bags thinking they could be cut up and sown into something else like a pocket on a Christmas apron. But again, they've just hung out in my sewing drawer for several years now. Have fun with them and when you get that amaryllis to bloom, I'd love to see a pic. I think it will be much happier in your southern climate.

Great gifts Tina! You are blessed. And Rebekah I LOVED your bookmark! Nancy Jo always finds the most amazing things, it is her gift. Miss Wilma's dillies were too cute as were the rest of your incredible gifts! How lucky are we to be in a community of women who are so loving and thoughtful?! BTW, Your pics of the babies melted my heart! Thank goodness I live in the city now or I would have a passel of pets the likes of which few have ever seen! LOL! My appreciation to everyone that sent you such lovely gifts!

I have been just so amazed at the outpouring of love from you gals. thanks so much! And yes..Linder this is a wonderful community of sweethearts here. I am just amazed at the love and care shown here. Oh Linder...I live in the city..ha. I don't let that stop me. In fact my neighbors a block down had a garage sale the other day and they informed me that they had been out walking and peeked in my yard and saw the chickens...and are totally cool with it. They thought it was neat because they actually want a mini donkey!...ha..but will wait until they move to South Carolina...but they were like..there are 200 goats around the corner that have been there for years..what are your couple of chickens to help feed your family?? That's the kind of neighbors I like..hee hee. So now instead of 2 chickens ..we have 4 and a duck too now. But that's really all I can have here in the city limits. ------------------ But all of my neighbors have been cool with it..and in fact one lady that I thought.."oh gosh she's gonna be the one to complain if anybody does" actually talked to my hubby the other day..and mentioned that she wanted to get herself a duck!..ha. I think my farm girl ways are rubbing off on the neighborhood! haha. --------------------- So glad you liked the pictures..wish the baby bird picture would have turned out better but the mama bird was nearby with food to bring back to the nest and I had to hurry out of her way.

All the pics were great Tina! I enjoyed them so much. Are your chickens laying hens? You could make a tidy sum selling their eggs once they're all grown. Your own cottage industry in the city! LOL!!

the two chickens that are nearly grown now are laying hens..one is a buff orpington and the other is an Ameracauna. We just got the 2 bantams and one has greyish feet so I'm thinking it "might" be an aracauna mix...the other is a yellow chick and I have no idea what we have in that one..ha. we are hoping that the two chicks we got are hens. The feed store tells us that if they aren't we can always bring them back..which is reassuring. but we are hoping for hens this time too.
