Do any of you farmgals listen to music while cleaning your house? I do! I love Johnny Cash (and June Carter Cash) and I listen to some cds I have of them while I clean my house. I'm not really into house cleaning, but it does need to be done. I have to clean up after a 2 year old 24/7. I feel I no sooner get a room clean and start on another and she has that first one a mess again....GRRR! For some crazy reason, My good ole buddies John and June get me in a happy mood and that puts me in a semi-cleaning mood and I get more housework done that way. Before we got rid of dish, we had Sirious and I would put it on the Christian Rock. I've always liked Johnny-my dad is a huge fan and it's become our thing now-his ringtone when he calls me is I Walk The Line. But, ever since I seen Walk the Line which is my fav movie now, I really like J & J. So-I clean my house now to some good ole Johnny Cash tunes. What about you?

absolutely! Must have music while cleaning. The type depends on my mood. I also love June and John. Elvis, Aretha, Beetles, Roger Miller and Tennesse Ernie Ford. Sheryl Crow is fun too! You know their is almost too many to list.

Yep, Rubber Soul (the Beatles) is my absolute favorite cleaning music, second is a Marvin Gaye box set, and third is an Otis Redding box set--always in rotation :) All in our I-tunes, I can turn it up and whirl around the house like noones business.

When I clean I listen to a variety of music. Hard rock or metal seems to energize me, but sometimes I'll turn on the party dance music station that's on our cable. The day before yesterday I played Styx, 'Pieces of Eight' cd while cleaning and then 'Raising Sand' by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for winding down and relaxing.

Doug and I both blare the music when we are cleaning. It sure makes chores a lot easier to get done! Or, alternatively I will turn on an audio book. I love audio books!

I love listening to music when I clean (usually on Saturday mornings, as I work all week)! I usually just put my iPod on "shuffle play," so I never know exactly what's coming next (I have a pretty eclectic mix of about 300 songs loaded on).

I just got an mp3 player today for my birthday, so I will be listening to music while I clean now! I am more of a hard rock type person, but I will listen to almost anything.

I have a sort of "tradition" that if there's something in the house that's really yucky (like something a pet "left" us or the toilet backed up or something) I'll put on the theme song for, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." If I can't get it done by the time it's over, I'll just stick the song on repeat until I'm done. Somehow it makes me laugh - makes me feel like I'm really tough I guess, to tackle such a job!
XOXO, Libbie

I think the only way to clean the house is when listening to music. I definitely put something loud on, I'm not sure why it has to be loud, it just helps. I've been listening to the soundtrack from Hairspray, the movie, and it really helps me get into a cleaning groove. When I don't have Hairspray in, I usually just put a bunch of my favorite country music CDs into the CD changer and listening to a whole collection, as long as it's loud. |

I hope this isn't too weird, but I clean to the Dropkick Murphys. They are Irish punk. BAHAHAHAHA The kids think I'm freaky, but it's great cleaning music!

I like to blast Buddy Guy, B.B.King, Little Milton. lots of blues, James Brown, Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, and Tracy Nelson, both when she was with Mother Earth and on her own. Otis, Aretha, Years ago if I wanted to irritate my children I would put in Delbert McClinton or Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, something nice and lively...Karin

I crank it up pretty loud! I picked up a cd called Disco Cardio at Wal-mart. It really gets you going. I also enjoy the Jeff Foxworthy countdown on sat. mornings. I guess that's the redneck in me! LOL

Gotta have music to get the blood pumping!! I loooooove the old country well 70's old country. I grew up on it. I have to have me some J&J very often among Dolly, Loretta, Tammy & George well you know all of them...hehehe and I like any kinda music too.
My new favorite song I have only heard a couple times, that may not be new but new to me, is Brooks n Dunn "Put a Girl In It". If you don't know it you can find it on You Tube! Is it new??
I have to have a radio or playlist or old records or something on at all times. Drives my dh mad, he rarely listens. Maybe the reason he is so grouchy! just kidding.......

I listen to stuff that leaves me dancing like a fool. I love David Crowder Band....they make me rock-out while cleaning and kneading bread. My iPod is really never too far away!

Now that we are trying to wean ourselves off tv, I have music on all the time. Most like it is country but that is anything from southern rock to bluegrass to top 20 to some off the beaten path artists. I like to put in Allison Krauss (sp) at night and let that woman's angel voice put me to sleep. Charlie likes his Taylor Swift- he thinks she is "Perty"!! HA!!
I need noise to do anything around the house, but especially cleaning. Right now, Pat Green is in the player.

How funny. One day, while waiting for a phone call, I was working around the house with LeeAnn Rimes doing Patsy Cline really LOUD, plus the vacuum running. When I finished, I noticed that the phone was blinking. Sure enough, it was the call I'd been expecting. So I called him back and explained that I had been pretending I was Patsy Cline. He responded, "You were pretending you were dead?" Ha ha.
